How to best remove chlorine?

Hi everyone,

I am starting to swim a lot for cross-training with my running, and was wondering what products you would recommend for removing chlorine that won't dry out my hair too much? Should I just use my regular sulfate-free shampoo? I'm scared to use it too often, though, since I generally shampoo about every other day at most.

Will you be wearing a swim cap? If not that would help. Here's an idea from:

    Chlorine Buster

It is always a good idea to rinse your hair with plain water prior to entering any swimming pool to prevent chlorine water from penetrating into your hair shaft; however, this remedy will help reverse any chlorine damage to unprotected hair.

    1 egg, beaten

    2 tablespoons olive oil

    1/4 cup pureed, peeled cucumber

Massage well into hair from scalp to ends, then cover with a plastic processing cap. Process for 30 minutes hour at room temperature, then cleanse hair with a non-sulfate cleanser.

    password: curly

    3B w/3A underneath

    Medium texture
    Average porosity

Crazy-picky hair; likes some oils and proteins, but not others, can tolerate some glycerin.

    Current products-
    Co-wash: Suave/Vo5/TJ Refresh
Rinse out & Leave in: Suave Tropical Coconut/Garnier Triple Nutrition
Gel: Herbal Essences Set Me Up/Aussie Tizz No Frizz

My daughter is on a competitive swim team. This is what works for her. Never go in pool with dry hair. Soak up clean water first, a little leave in doesn't hurt. Afterwards, wash immediatly with poo and a teaspoon of baking soda. Do not let chlorine dry in hair. Hope this helps.
