i hate my hair...hello

Hey I just started lurking on these boards so I decided to join. There are days I hate my hair and there are days that I love my hair. It seems as though I can never grow out my hair really long like past my shoulders. It always ends up getting dry and I have to end up getting it trimmed. I would like curls like Emmy Rossum I think she has gorgeous hair. I think I'm type 3a and I use curly sexy hair shampoo and conditioner but I'm looking for a change.
