The Furminator

I went to Petsmart yesterday and saw this brush and couldn't believe my eyes that the price tag is $50. http://www.furminator.com/testbed/indexnew.html
Check out the demo videos on the website, it runs circles around my shedding blade. If it actually works that well on my husky it would be worth the money!

I want that! Too cool!
Thanks for the info,

I think I may have to invest in that for my pooch and kitty, my dark purple bedding is getting sick of my white cat sleeping on it, and leaving all her hair behind!!
I also found this on QVC for 27.50 for the small one. http://tinyurl.com/jeqn4

I'm a curly-headed runner, triathlete and foodie! Sweat, chlorine, sun... my hair gets tortured by it daily. It somehow always manages to 'bounce' another day!
I comb her twice a week with it and I've noticed a big difference in the amount of pet hair in the house. Her coat is lovely too, nice and shiny.

1. the furminator sold in stores cannot be self sharpened. only the ones sold to groomers can be.
2.you can hurt your dog if you're not careful or don't have proper training. Apparently they had one groomer in training who ended up slicing a dog pretty bad.
There was enough fur that came off of Gram to make a small terrier. It was amazing how much fur came off!
do you find your furminator gets dull over time? how do you keep it working?
You can buy replacement blades.

We're gonna try it. Sounds like it cuts the hair, rather than just brushing it?

Is everyone still loving their Furminators? I'm thinking of getting one for my dog. He's a shepherd mix and has the undercoat. I guess it cuts the undercoat off. Does this mean we can't use it in winter?
3b/c/a mix. medium texture, low porosity
My Motto: Strand Test! some hair pics

Unless you keep your dog outdoors all the time, the Furminator should be fine to use during the winter.

The amount of time from slipping on the peel and landing on the pavement is exactly one bananosecond.

I've decided that I'll never get down to my original weight, and I'm OK with that--After all, 8 pounds 2 oz. is just not realistic.
Samson is about 100#, and we always joke that we brush a few chihuahuas off of him!
I'm ordering it now!

Fine and thin 3a. PW: curls
I got the small one and it works very well on my long-haired cat (see my avatar). I can make several more cats once I'm done brushing her.
I'm glad it works for others. If there was a way to try it before you pay the money - that would be great!
