Yummy, healthy sweet bread

Here's a recipe of my own creation, loosely based off of a Cooking Light recipe. It's low fat and low in sugar, too. I love it
! It goes great with tea or toasted for breakfast, with a little extra honey on top.
Pear and Poppy Bread
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup spelt flour (whole grain flour available in health food stores)
3 1/2 tablespoons poppy seeds
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
Dash ground cardamom
Dash ground cinnamon
1 cup chopped peeled ripe pear
1 cup skim or low-fat buttermilk
1/2 cup sugar
1/8 cup honey
1 1/2 tablespoons melted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon almond extract
1 large egg
Combine 1st 8 ingredients; stir well. Add pear and toss. Make a well in the middle. Whisk remaining ingredients together thoroughly; pour into well and stir gently until moist (not too much stirring). Pour into greased (sprayed) loaf pan and bake for about 1 hour or a little less. Enjoy!

Though I've never made muffins with this recipe, I'm sure you could. I find that most of my bread/cake recipes work as muffins. And I'm sure you could use canned pear, but I really hate canned fruit
Let me know how it turns out!
