Uneven hair

Hello curlies!

I could really use some advice from u guys. I had a haircut a year and a half ago (kind of a big chop) and it was awful, it was uneven and my hair looked horrible. I decided not to fix it because it was already short and I was really sad, didn't wanna see another scissor for a long time... I thought it was gonna get better in time, but it didn't :( now my hair is shoulder length and its still uneven...
Im kind of in the middle of a dilemma, I dont know if i should just cut it so its even and let it grow again, or if i should cut the ends and wait for my hair to eventually (after a looong time) look better.

Do u have any suggestion? I don't really wanna cut it, short hair doesn't suit me at all, but at the same time I get really sad each time i want to wear my hair down and I cant bc its uneven.

Ps.: i can dissimulate my uneven haircut when I wash and style my hair, but 2nd day hair is a mess.

    everytime I cut my hair ear length it grows out very uneven. hair does that. the back of my head will grow faster then the top so it gets mullet looking. I kinda ignore it till my hair is a little longer and ill go get it trimmed and shaped up.

    I have the same problem, but every time I cut it, it grows back the same. Now I just wear protective styles until its grows out more.

    soon as it it hits my shoulders im gonna put it up alot and see how it grows then

    I have this issue, too. My left side is at least two inches shorter than the right. It's much more noticeable when I wear my hear in a twistout or a braidout than when I wear my hair straight. I try to trim and/or dust the right side a little more to create the illusion of symmetry, but, yeah, it doesn't work out that way. Although the trimming does help my ends...

    protective styling is a good idea. ive got this problem as well, though extream, a few years ago, (i was 17 at the time, am now 20) i went through a really tough year and due to the stress i pull my hair out, a strand at the time, and i dont even notice it myself, (is a verrry bad habit!) anyhow, ive done it so much that both sides of the temples an inch above my ear, is very short even now, its just started to grow back, and at the nape of my neck. it will take YEARS for my hair to be even again.
    so far i use my rosemary oil mixture as a scalp messager and use it on the really bad spots. maybe you want to look at things that might help with hair growth?

    my hair: 3b, high porosity, high density and coarse hair (i think i finally figured that all out)
    my hair loves conditioner only styling!
    Oils and my own procuts are my hairs best friend
    my hair goal length is bra strap length when curly.

    Thanks for all your messages! I use EVOO and some other oils to massage my scalp, like jojoba and coconut oil, they are really nice! my hair grew really fast (Big cut was like chin length), this whole uneven growing didn't ever happen to me before :( . I got in contact with my old stylist and she acceded to try to fix my hair a little, just to dissimulate the problem while it grows back. ImageUploadedByCurlTalk1364935475.317913.jpg

    (Some new photos so u can see how bad it looks. U can barely notice from the back, but its a different story on the other side, bc the "layers" look more like a stair :P )

    i really would advice that you get your hands on same rosemary oil, i sware by this stuff. make a misture of jojoba and coconut oil add drops of rosemary to it. use this to message your scalp. it feels amazing and smells great.
    chin length you say? your hair has really grown in the last year n a half!

    ok so i cut my hair and i did it VERY unevenly
    and so how can i get it to grow out even?

    I would honestly suggest professionally going to get it layered... That's what I had to do.
