2016 hair growth challenge?

in Growing out
Since there's only two months left of 2015, I wanted to know if anyone's thinking about starting a hair growth challenge for the new year, I have some ideas but they aren't organized yet.

:tongue5: I like that! I really want to get started braiding my own hair so I can join you. I realize that when I leave my hair alone for a long time, it just grows and grows. I've been challenging myself to greenhouse with coconut oil 5 nights a week, applying the oil only 2 out of the 5 nights. My edges are filling in slowly... I guess we all have our own little personal challenges going on!

I would like to join a current hair growth challenge. Where do I find one? I quit coloring my hair four years ago. The dye was cut off 3 years ago and I have been growing ever since. Currently 29" stretched. Waist length for me is 32" stretched. I am bsl++ curly right now. Would like to be atleast waist length curly by the end of 2016.
My hair is fine/thin density. 2b/3a curls. Low Porosity. Not sure of texture.

For me and my particular situation, I've been doing something like daily oiling for most of January and I really like how my hair has not dried out at anytime, because it's been oiled just about every day! I've also done greenhouse some nights, too. This is my official challenge to myself for February, and then month to month.
Modified it from this lady who says she grew her 4b/c hair to her waist : How I Grew Long Natural Hair Using the 'Indian Oiling Method' | Curly Nikki | Natural Hair Care
And here's her site: nappilynigeriangirl: MY OILING REGIMEN UPDATE FOR HEALTHY HAIR
Anyone suffering from dry hair and tired of buying so many products will want to give this a try. I'm many years and thousands of $$$$ down the drain, so when it works for me I start talking. Peace and love :thumright:

I realize I am joining this challenge very late in the year, and many of you are probably close to the finishing (6 month) mark. I am going to do my first fermented rice water treatment over the weekend, and I was wondering if anyone has seen any results from this challenge. Would love to hear how it's been going so far for everyone!

Here is my progress so far. Starting from scratch, basically, since I've worn my hair short for the last two decades with only two grow-outs in between.
Would like to join others for moral support. Otherwise, I'm liable to go sit in the barber's chair the moment my hair tickles any part of my body.
Shampoo every 3-4 days w/Costco shampoo or whatever is available
Co-wash in between (or just cold water): Aussie Moist or Costco Condish, occasionally Herbal Essences
Styler: Shea Moisture Milk & Castor oil or EcoStyler
Goal: SL Hair - growing out after almost 2 full decades of pixie/boy-cuts
