What products that everyone seems to love do nothing for you?

Clinique dramatically different moisturizer - meh. Might as well put water on my skin. Does nothing dramatic for me!
Also, Maybelline Great Lash. What??? The most over-hyped mascara. Very un-great. One of the least effective mascaras on me.
How about you? What "fabulous" "terrific" famous products fail completely for you?

Love MAC's eyeshadows though!
Curly Pearl: That Clinique moisturizer used to work great on my skin, but something changed last year and now it really does NOTHING at all! I had to switch to a new moisturizer.

Low poo: Creme of Nature Argan Oil Moisture & Shine

For what it's worth, I was cast as NW15 in one MAC place and a C in another. I didn't buy either one - thought the foundation was very thick and gloppy.

I hate Clinique's Dramatically Different Moisturizer. My mom has used it for years. I had to get the green version when I was a teen. The standard yellow DM burned my skin and left it dry.
I'm really not a huge fan of Clinique or Estee Lauder skin care products. I don't notice that they do much, they are expensive, and I always have a reaction after reformulation.

The masks don't work for me either. They make my hair drier and they don't help me detangle. At all. I can barely salvage them with olive oil.
Products I wasted money on:
Lancome TONIQUE CONFORT and GALATÉE CONFORT. It's just good marketing. That toner gave me horrible acne and the "gel pudding" face wash was just glorified Cetaphil that couldn't remove makeup or properly moisturize.
BareMinerals. Everything. Even their stupid little sample brushes. All the powders turn orange-ish on me; they just don't have anything to match my undertone and after 30 minutes I look ridiculous. And something in even their Buxom line irritates my skin something awful.

Weekly Products I'm Using:
Pantene Relaxed & Naturals Shampoo and Conditioner
Blue Magic Hairdress
Grapeseed Oil
my hair is normal-ish porosity / dense / fine+medium strands
Shea moisture anything! The coconut hibiscus one drys my hair out and has this sickly sweet rotten scent. Everyone raves about it and I just hate the stuff! Lol

MAC Face & Body - I can attest that it separates, on my face.
MAC Matte Lipstick - Drying. What are people thinking, really? NARS and Make Up Forever have much better formulated ones.
Vichy Capital Soleil Face BB Tinted Velvety Cream SPF50 - Yes, it does dry non-oily, which is amazing for a high protection sunscreen. But after 2 seconds I finished applying it on my face, my skin felt this crazy burning and stinging sensation and my eyes started watering, I had to immediately remove it in the gentlest way possible. Plus, they only have one color-fits-all and it didn't fit me at all.
I honestly think it would be amazing for people with normal-oily skin and not sensitive in the slightest, whose skin color is a match for the tint.

I'm not fond of Lush face products. All have led to breakouts. Especially Ultrabland. Oh and my Clarisonic did nothing. I can't use any exfoliating products, that makes me breakout, too.
I think my skin is very sensitive.

Now I figured my own simple routine with some chemical exfoliations and tender care and never bought into natural and/or pricey-highly-advertised products ever again, and my skin has never looked better (although now it's oily-dry-sensitive combo - woe is me). The same with makeups.

Retin-A (the gentlest there is: 0.025% Cream) works wonderfully for me, used sparingly. I don't care about building resistance, persisting through the adjusting phase, increasing the level, etc. I don't care what people say. I use it on my skin when it feels fine and stop and moisturize like mad (Vaseline mixed with water works just fine) when my skin feels about to be over-exfoliated.
I get compliments on my skin, good enough for me.

I don't use an antiperspirant or deodorant. I just wash the bacteria away throughout the day if necessary. If I am on campus working I'll just use a witch hazel wipe in the ladies room. Yes, it may seem odd at first but it works better for me and there is no aluminum or gross residue.
I really hate deodorant! I used to use CertainDri, but now I just wash throughout the day if needed. My boyfriend thinks I'm crazy not to wear any lol. I think deodorant is gross and I have no idea why anyone wears it!

I feel like it was worse when I first stopped using antiperspirant. I do sweat due to medication it just doesn't smell that bad now. My body has adapted somewhat. I just wash and dry to refresh and prevent smell. Only way to know if works for you is to try it out. Maybe pick days you are home or have more leisure time to start. Start by wearing it less frequently.

Maybelline Great Lash - gave me clumpy short spider leg lashes.
YSL Touche Éclat - did nothing for my dark circles whatsoever. I don't understand the hype.
No, it was NOT me who cried 'wee wee wee wee wee' all the way home.
YES. Spent, like £20 or whatever on this and it's pretty sub-par, bordering on useless
