About the liquid step in the loc system

Hello,

I use the loc system and I wonder: is spritzing water on/water washing my hair enough to be the liquid step of the system?
Thank you for your answer!!

It would depend on what your hair can handle. After washing, I rinse out my rinse out conditioner (usually my cowash while I shower), apply my sealing oils (coconut or olive oil), & lastly I put in my leave in conditioner. Liquid=water, oil, cream=leave in conditioner. Then style as usual.

Ok! That's what I have been doing but it seems like my hair gets oily yet dry after a few days (in doing the loc system every day). I guess there is a step i need to improve.. Any idea what could be wrong?

I have that same problem when I do LOC. Now I just don't do it. If a product has oils after the first five or so ingredients and I'm ok though. I have better moisture retention with washing then putting in either my conditioner alone, a curl product alone, or use iagirls flaxseed curl cream. The curl cream I make has flaxseed gel, conditioner, and honey as my hard hold gel. If the conditioner I have doesn't have oil I've gotten to adding oil to it.

I'm also trying to get my amounts right of using oil to scrunch out the crunch after it's dry right now. So far I've been too heavy handed.

That's interesting! What type of curls do you have? Mines are 3b-3c.

My curls are tighter- anywhere from 3C to 4A. However, I think that doesn't influence my experience as much as my other properties: fine textured, low porosity, and low-medium density. Even when I relaxed my hair chemically I couldn't use a lot of oils- it had similar effects I just didn't have the knowledge that I have now.

Mine are 3c/4a as well. I remoisturize by spritzing the air above my head & letting the mist fall on my hair. Then put a plastic cap on my head & go to bed. My hair is moisturized in the morning.

Thank you curlicious! This is something I never tried before and I think that will work nicely with mine. I don't know if the moisture would last all day though.

I was doing the same as curlicious was before I started using flaxseed gel. For my hair at least it did keep my hair moisturized throughout the day.
