  I have 3c/4a hair as well. I love love love Eden body works jojoba deep conditioner. I use it with du grow hair oil & sit under a hooded dryer on low heat for 30 minutes. Then I turn the dryer on cool for 10 minutes. Then put in my leave in conditioner. By using the oil, I get a hot oil treatment as well. Good stuff.

  I rinse out my deep conditioner before putting in the leave in conditioner.

  You should you a thick deep conditioner. I usually wrap my hair and try leave it in for an hour. I also mix oil in it or put oil over it so it seals.
  
  Im not sure what works better caz I haven't used the oil & conditioner mix in a while. I jus seal with oil, leave in for a while then rinse. Sometimes I shampoo after if my hair feels like it has build up.

  I really don't think there is a best, it just depends on the technique/product that your hair likes and fits into your schedule.
  My DC's are :
  Cantu deep treatment masque
  Shea Moisture Deep Treatment Masque(of the raw shea retention line)
  DIY, of Organic Honey and coconut oil, heated in the microwave and mixed with the Shea Moisture one,applied while hot/warm.
  
  With all of my DC's I sit under the dryer with a plastic cap for 30-45 minutes.
  
  You just have to try a few things and see what you like. (: good luck.

  I would say that how thick/thin your deep conditioner should be depends on your hair porosity. If your hair tends to soak up moisture very quickly and dries out easily (high porosity), use a thick deep conditioner. And if your hair is fine and breaks easily I would balance that with a protein treatment.
  
  I'm 4a/3c high porosity and I love As I Am Hydration Elation deep conditioner. I also do homemade protein treatments every other wash bcuz my hair is very fine. I find my hair feels best doing all that. Experiment with the two

  I've heard good things about as I am. I have to try it. How would you compare it to the shea moisture one?
