White girl with 3C hair

Cara424Cara424 Posts: 3Registered Users
Are there any other white girls with African type hair? I am not biracial. My hair comes from my Slovak heritage and I have no African lineage. I have always had 3C hair and got it straightened. I did have beautiful hair extensions for years. Then I finally took them out and tried Keratin treatments. They help a little but now I'm trying the kinky curly look and hope my kinks will grow long. I switched to all natural products too. Everyone stairs at me because if my hair:( it's really annoying. The only hair care techniques and hair styles I can relate to are from black women!

And those techniques may work for you too.

Have you tried any of them?

Well, your type of hair doesn't matter- only for styling. What really matters are your hair properties- porosity, texture, density, and elasticity Then, you can research, in combination with your dew points, what ingredients work best for you.

Yes I've seen white girls, asian, Indian, mixed, Hispanic, and blacks with 3c hair. 3c is not just black women hair or "African" hair, it's multiracial, the women on the hair typing chart don't define the hair.

I have been using coconut oil and a natural butter blend. Tonight I'm going to try a twist! This site is the best. And I watched tons of videos on you tube.

Awww i was hoping to see pics :-\ i have a 3c/4a type...the CG method works perfectly for me! :-) After a few weeks of following it your hair will become hydrated!

Eta: This may sound funny....but i learned how to take care of my natural hair from Waterlily916. So type really does only matter when it comes to styling...i suspect me and Waterlily may have similar hair properties like porosity and such bc almost everything she uses works for me....and im black :)! Trippy, yeah? Lol

U learn a lot on this natural hair journey. Enjoy the ride!

Like they say, just go with it. Lots of things that work for Black, Mixed or White women do NOT work for me. LoL!

But I'm finding some things do. Like styling gels. My hair LOVES gel! I just tried Aussie Instant Freeze gel and so far, love it! It's not a "Black" product, but it's nice and works. :)

Just tell yourself that they are staring at you because you are beautiful :)

I am more of a 2b/2c but I find a lot of the advice for caring for black hair is helpful.

Yeah I learned how to finger detangle by watching Waterlily's YT videos, haha. She's awesome, and our hair is obviously different but it doesn't matter. All curlies need moisture and gentle care to look good.

Hey so I just saw this and I'm also a white girl with 3c hair due to my salovic haritage mix with Irish. Also African hair products do work very well for our hair since they are so similar. I'm just so happy I found someone else that has hair like me!!
