if a stylist thins your hair....

do you need to grow the whole thing out to totally fix it or is there some other way.? my hair is very bulky so I said I wanted long layers to help so its not so thick. next thing I know from about my ears down she would hold up hair and cut "into" it,can't really explain it...and I'd see a clump of hair fall down. did that several times..i was speechless & of course am now kicking myself for not telling her to stop immediately. my hair feels more fuzzy/frizzy now. I probably already know(denial)that I will have to grow it out from my ears down to get rid of that part but thought someone might have an idea? any stylist that has ever tried to "debulk" my hair ends up making it more fuzzy/frizzy.each one, granted has a different way of doing it but...

Got a Ouidad cut in January and liked that, except the price was vey high. I am trying to grow the layers out because six months into full on CG, I realized I can probably have my hair all one length and not have the dreaded triangle head effect. I got a trim in May by the stylist who thinned it out back in November. Told her I wanted to grow out the layers and length and not to thin it out. We did just that, but for a few days after she trimmed my hair, my hair was uber meh: frizz and limp curls. Upped my protein and it seems to have settled back to "normal."
So, give it a few days. For the most part, my hair goes into shock after it gets a trim.

I don't know if you've already seen this thread but it might be very helpful for your next cut: http://www.naturallycurly.com/curltalk/salon-stylist-chatter/76806-what-should-i-tell-my-stylist.html
See if your cut settles... otherwise I hate to be the bearer of bad news but the only way to fix a thinned-out cut is to do a big chop to even it out, or just wait for it to grow out.
I'm still growing out a thinning-shear haircut from 9 months ago.

You're right about layers, people always reccomend layers for curly hair, but I think mine would look better without them. Layers just allow more of my hair to spring up and create more volume than I need.
The thing about thinning is that often stylists who aren't curly hair knowledgeable will take the side of the scissors and razor down a section of hair. That is what creates a lot of frizz and uneven curls.
The Quidad "Carve & Slice" method is where the stylist cuts into the hair to remove bulk. They don't razor the hair and it seems to be a much better way of debulking. To me it sounds like this might be what your stylist did.
Also, maybe the frizz is from the products she used?
Hopefully your hair does settle down, but if not I don't think you should cut it more. Shorter curly hair often means more volume/bulk and you might fall in love with the cut it as it grows out.
You said it feels worse, but how does the shape and everything look?
I also agree with Spiralspunk, that I'm not at all sure that long layers work for me.
Don't panic, breathe, and please report back.
Good luck.
