Growing Long?

in Curly Teens
I have 3a curls, and my hair is currently a little above the bottom of my shoulder blades. My idea is to grow out my hair over the summer but I'm not sure. I don't want to loose my curly hair by getting it too heavy because of the length... any input?
Also, I usually shower at night and then go to bed and wake up with my hair a mess, any ideas? I've tried pinapple-ing and the plop method but neither work too well, my hair gets flat on the top layer

3a curls tend to be looser as they grow.. But if you grow it to BSL or a bit shorter I think that you wont have a problem with it .. you can use a good curly hair gel to embrace your curls.
About sleeping .. I used to have this problem .. You should buy a satin pillowcase . it helps .

Most people usually loose curl as their hair gets longer, but some don't. I say grow it out and see for yourself. You could also try scrunching your hair to make it somewhat more curlier.
For the frizz. It's summer time! You could easily just trying showering/washing your hair in the morning as its more safe to go out with wet/damp hair in the warmer months. Or, if that's a no-go for you, you could try twist-outs or braid-outs. Or maybe you could just simply lightly spray your hair with water and use an anti-frizz product over top of that, and voila!
Hope that helped.
