Protein-Free Products

Hi everyone, I'm new. I've done a lot of thread reading, but have found myself paralyzed by the wall of products available!
I live in Colorado, where the words 'humidity' and 'dew points' aren't found in the dictionary. The weather is harsh and cold for about three to four months out of the year. Would anyone know of any super moisturizing protein-free emollients (no humectants - hair suicide in an environment like CO winters) that they've found useful?
Thanks so much! :toothy8:

My hair has normal porosity and a coarse texture.
What do you think? Are emollients the way to go?
Are you thinking oils like jojoba oil? Or specific products?
cleanser: Redken Fresh Curls Shampoo, CJ Daily Fix
rinse out: GVP Conditioning Balm, CJ Beauticurls, CJ Smoothing
jellies/creams: CR Curl Maker, KCCC
gels: CJ CQ, CJ Pattern Pusha, BRHG
Check off the "no protein" box, then enter your product choice in the search box. If you enter something generic like just the brand name (e.g. "VO 5" ) then all of that brand name products *without* protein will come up. Hope that helps!
S-shaped hair with corkscrew ends. My hair is even more confused than me ;p
My hair officially hates protein
Currently a fan of TiGi products, (rock on, TiGi Curlesque styling creme!) but that will soon change - I am a self-avowed product junkie! Yay!
BIG fan of supersoaker method - thanks Rudeechick!
Another brand to examine is Curly Kinks. They are made in my area (a suburb of Philly) and are protein free. Our dewpoints can be in the negative numbers in the winter, so they might be good for you.
SE PA
HGs: Anything Sevi; Curly Kinks Satin Roots, Curlycue ReNew and Coil Jam; homemade FSG and okra gel; soap bars; UFD Curly Magic; Botanical Spirits Jellies, CJ Repair Me, Aloe Fix

Knotty_Maddy, thanks! I never noticed that before! Definitely helpful. I have heard people talk about how it's sometimes difficult to know when something is really protein free since they don't all follow the simple suffixes rule (ex - hydrolyzed coconut oil), so I'm a little worried about how well the filter function might work. Guess I was just hoping someone else might have had experience will protein-free emollient products.
kathymack, I'll look into these products, thanks!
