The Au Naturale Challenge

in Hair Type 3
I am currently starting a year long challenge that involves the use of 100% natural products. Recently I have noticed that commercial products do little to nothing for my hair so I am now giving mother nature a try. If anyone is interested can you please list the oils and butters you use and their purposes in your regimen. You can also documnet your journey through pictures and videos(if they will post). Don't forget to post your starting date. Feel free to modify this challenge at your discresion. I started on October 7, 2012. :angel5:

i try to do this once a week or when my hair needs nohting else. its a herbal rinse with a splash vinegar. it depends on what kind of herbs ive got at home, and whats in season. but what ive tried and tested: sage, rosemary, comfry, nettle, lavender, peppermints, tea, marshmallow fresh rose pettles.... right now im useing: sage, marshmallow root and tea, black or green tea what ever i have. i boil it like im making a cup of tea, and let it sit and cool. then i strain it and add a splash vinegar and use that as a final rinse. the smell goes away as it drys my hair LOVES this. i also message it into my scalp a bit, helps clean and with hard water build up.

The one thing I'm missing is an all-natural cleansing conditioner... (Using L'Oreal currently.) We'll see if the Ayurvedic powder woos me. I just like washing with something that has slip, and I like something stronger than a regular cowash.
