question about goth/emo Hair Styles for curly hair

Hi, i'm really into heavy metal/screamo music and i was wondering if there was any punk/goth/emo hair styles for people with curly hair. I also have a high hairline/forhead... the bangs in this picture are kinda what i want

Well, first of all, punk and emo/goth are not the same thing. Avenged Sevenfold, Megadeath, and Falloutboy are TOTALLY different from good stuff like Dead Kennedys, Bad Religion, and the Ramones(:
The styles, therefore, are different too. For instance, people who go to punk concerts like DK concerts are there to mosh and don't care about how their hair looks, so they'll just be anarchists and go with whatever. Punk curls would probably be more tussled and messy. Trust me, I've been to some of those concerts, haha. Take Nancy (Sid and Nancy of the Sex Pistols) for instance. Here are punk curls:

As you can see, Courtney Love has got that messy thing going on ^
Emo, I'm guessing, would be more clean cut...curly hair and straight, long bangs. http://www.emobucket.com/albums/userpics/10001/normal_gh8.jpg

I guess it just depends on what look you're aiming for. HTH!

ignore the punk in my comment.. i meant more goth or emo.
No problem. Sorry, I know that must have sounded a bit mean when I referred to the punk as the "good stuff." I didn't mean the other stuff was bad, just that I listen to punk. I'm sorry if that came off as mean!

I did the side swoop bangs starting just below my eyebrow. Big mistake with my curls and my stylist. They shrunk up to about the middle of my forehead. I had to straighten them or finger pull them wavy. Major annoying.
Some people like the curly hair with straight bangs look. I did not. Just take that into consideration.

Also, combining straight sharp bangs with freer curly hair or waves and bold color can look good. Here's some hair styles to maybe consider:
or this gallery of curly scene hair, not exactly emo/goth, but similar I think to the photo you posted and you could add in more dark colors instead:

Yeah, but all of those are curled straight haired girls, which is a totally different curl pattern than naturally curly. I hate when you try searching on Youtube for curly hair styles and it's straight haired girls curling their hair....
Every curly has a different pattern, that generally don't match iron curls but I felt like that gallery was a place to get a few ideas. I think a lot of those styles could look good on natural 2b-3a hair, but I don't know the original posters hair type. The majority of hairstyles out there for emo/scene styles are straight though, which can be frustrating, but at least it was something slightly different to work from.

I have bangs.. but I have fine 3a hair that is pretty easy to "relax", IOW the curl doesn't have a whole lot of strength. If you have stronger curl I would suggest pinning them flat to the side and "faking" a bang. How I cut mine: gather them all to the center then cut straight across, this gives a bevel so when you let go they are slightly longer on the sides than in the center. It's a lot softer look than blunt cut and blends into the curls better. If you are sure you want them to swoop to one side you could cut them at an angle, I cut my dd's the same way as my own though and she wears hers as a side bang so it does work. Cut long, you can take more off but not glue it back on. Mine are cut to the bridge of my nose and when dry are just below my brows.. I lose almost 2 inches of length. Be 100% sure before you cut.. it's a long term commitment. When I wash I put in my product then comb them straight down and don't touch them again until they are dry. They will be a bit "crispy" but once you break the cast they are nice and soft. This gives a loose wave. I can also blow dry them while finger combing down (straighter and styled immediately, yet much more natural than a round brush) or flat iron after blow drying or after they air dry (either really straight or you can bend them like in the photo). You can also use bobby pins to wet set them.. comb smooth and pin flat to the rest of your hair (like a "no bang" look) either parted or all to one side. When they are dry comb through and they will be pretty straight.. it looks pretty weird until they are dry though.
As for the rest of the style, I would stick with your natural curls. Maybe an asymmetrical cut for some edge. For color I strongly second the suggestion of clip in extensions.. way safer than trying to color your own hair funky colors, plus you can change the color up easily.
