keeping 2c/3a curls overnight

I normally can just stick by head under the sink and wet my hair and scrunch a little conditioner into it and I will get some nice curls , but everytime i try braiding or plopping it i NEVER get the same curls . I cant think of anything else to do . help !

Have you tried using a sleep bonnet? I wear either a bonnet or I wrap my hair in a satin "do-rag", and it helps my curls keep a decent shape. I'm trying to get them to be elongated, rather than big loops everywhere, but since I chopped last August, I don't have enough hair. The shorter layers (at the crown) never do well overnight, but, luckily they dry faster than the longer layers; especially in back where my hair is thickest. Unless the stars are aligned perfectly, I always need a refresher spray or some water in the morning, but I don't have to rewet my whole head and wait 8 hours for my hair to dry.

The most comfortable sleep bonnet I have is this hideous pink thing I bought at Sally's. I bought a couple different kinds to try to see what would stay on my head and not drive me nuts. Of course, the one that makes me look like Nana in Pincurls works the best, and is the most comfortable. The first time my husband laid eyes on it, after he stopped laughing, he assumed the bonnet was payback for his snoring.

It really does help keep my curls in shape, and I haven't had nearly as many problems with tangling as I used to since I began imprisoning my hair while I sleep.

Sleep bonnets are great!! I had this AWFUL ugly gold/tan monstrosity from Sallys, it was one of the only ones they had so I bought it. Luckily it was only a few dollars because I couldnt bring myself to wear it! It was so ugly and my poor DH couldnt even look me in the eye. I quickly ordered a prettier purple silk one from Pretty Anntoinets, and I love it, and my DH can actually carry on a conversation with me when I wear it.
Now that my hair is long enough to pineapple, I've been doing that a lot, spritz with water in the morning, clip the front back, and thats it.

Thank you for the link to the pretty bonnets! I'm definitely going to get one.
