Colorful Neutral Protein Filler

Sold at Sally's Beauty (and online), Colorful Neutral Protein Filler is keratin protein and wheat protein plus a few other ingredients.
It's a liquid, very water-like which you can add to FSG, gels, conditioners or even use straight out of the bottle.
In FSG, 3/4 to 1 teaspoon per cup of FSG is a good dose.
It's cheap and can add a nice protein punch to an otherwise satisfactory product.
Something protein-loving hair's owners should definitely know about!

I'm having a bit of an issue.
Protein pre-coloring is supposed to help color "take."

I need to make sure it's well mixed in. The last time I used it, more came out than expected (new bottle), and between that and the large amount of conditioner already in my hand, I didn't get it as thoroughly mixed as I normally would. Since then, when my hair has finished drying, the side that got more of the NPF has appeared about an inch shorter than the other. I've got to get more on the side of my non-dominant hand next time.
Or is this a sign that I need to do a more intensive PT all over my head?

It couldn't hurt to do a full PT. Or at least that's how it sounds - but I defer to IAgirl.

Good to know. How long has it been since you got your color done? I'm having mine done on Monday, and I'm thinking I should wait at least a week.
And ninja, you're changing your avi like Cher changes costumes. It's so confusing!!! XD

I used the Protein Filler to fix a bad (re: uneven) dye job. I redyed immediately, using the product for its original use. It improved things about 85 to 90 per cent. So: bad dye job on Friday; fix w/ filler & re-dye on Saturday.
That's pretty cool to be able to fix it all in one weekend. Imagine what you would have paid for that at a salon. Three cheers for DIY!
OT: love your ever changing avi. Keeps us entertained.
I can't say it's 100 per cent improved, but it's a lot better than it was, fortunately. Next time I'm using the red version on the lighter part of my hair which isn't taking the usual penny color (what I am naturally) well. Not sure how I'll separate the sections (I have a shag), but as always, it's an interesting, if highly imprecise, process. (I am soaking it in Ion Repair Deep Conditioner as I write, btw.)
Suggestions for effective separation welcome! Foil?

Awww, thanks! That's my friend Luther. Handsome devil, isn't he? And I'm glad you understood I didn't mean to sound critical - I was actually joking. That's why I made the comparison to Cher.
And I think I'd use foils for separation. Maybe someone else has other ideas, though. Good luck, and let us know how it turns out.
ETA: Does anyone know why CNPT only comes in puny 1.2oz or 4oz. sizes? Just curious...

Awesome! Luther is demanding it (along with the fez I promised him ages ago).
And thanks for the tip about adiscountbeauty.com - that shipping was insane!

I know you didn't mean to be critical, bluesheep! Gals here are so polite.
I just mean us kids need a little entertainment. Ooh, what guide will Ninjadog be in today. It gives her a superheroine aura.
Well, that and her penny-colored shag.
Yes! Luther needs a fez! I have a small one I put on my little anatomy man (a guy who comes apart like a puzzle of the human anatomy). It's an oddly useful item.
I am going to buy a small red red and conduct an experiment this week. Will report on all results. :salut:
p.s. kas, going to look for sock monkey goes to hollywood from the library right now. (And....found and reserved. Yay!)
