can I remove BKT or is it heat damage??

I have 3c curly, curly hair. Last summer I got the Marcia BKT done and while my curls were still in tact, they just were loosened, I loved it!! Then after about 6 months, I decided I wanted another BKT, and did it myself.
Now, its been about 5 months and my hair wont curl at all! I miss my curls soo much and am reading through these posts on ways to remove the keratin. Although, I dont know how to tell if my hair wont curl because of heat damage or because of keratin. Even when I try to scrunch it when its wet or twist it, it wont curl! The roots until about 3 inches down are curly, and the rest, bone straight!

I have been thinking of getting a curly perm to avoid having to chop it all off (again). What do you guys think? Any good brands to use if so?
Any alternatives to a perm? I have been using a sulfate shampoo for almost 2 months now and tried the salt washing too. HELP! I'm desperate :help:

You cannot undo heat or chemical damage. A curly perm will only further damage your hair, not to mention that it will probably not match your natural texture. You could maybe try braid outs or twists to get temporary curls.

Oh nooo, don't get a curly perm!
I saw a vid on Ouidad's youtube page where this girl w/ a messed up/frizzy bkt got it fixed at that salon. After checking out Ouidad's site, it seems like she can undo the BKT *sometimes* w/ lots of DTs and PTs w/ heat. Try doing that at home. You might see an improvement.
My signature style: the "braid n' curl"
High porosity, normal elasticity, high density, thick strands, DRY (must moisturize/oil and DT a lot), tangles easily. Highly textured...curl softener+demi-perm color.
    Straightened length: Waist (layers)
Textured length: (variable) full SL to BSL

    Condish/Shampoo: VO5
    Pre-poo: mild protein(VO5)+castor oil+tea tree
    Steam treatments: 1-2x weekly
Daily routine and DT: Moisturize w/ Aubrey Honeysuckle Rose+Olive oil and seal w/ Avocado oil

Before you chemical treat, you should try making a homemade sea salt spray to get some curls back in your hair.

I suffered from a similar fate last summer when I did keratin treatments back to back on the front portion of my hair, leaving me with stick straight hair in front and curls all through the rest of my hair.

After soooo much trial and error, washing my hair with sea salt and the harshest shampoos almost daily, even using malibu crystals (a product used to strip color from hair), I finally came up with a solution.

I made a home made flax seed gel from a recipe on this site, then added one and a half teaspoons of sea salt to every 1/4 cup of gel. I diluted this solution enough to spray out of a spray bottle, and then voila...

I had curls back in my hair!!!!

Try this. You may not have to cut/process your hair.

    Good Luck!
