I need help :(

okay so after some rather honest advice from my friends apparently my hair looks burnt and fried. I've thought that for a while but to hear someone say it is disheartening cause i have NO idea how to fix it.
this is my normal routine wash every 4-7 days
shampoo
condition (with african american people conditioner)
straighten using small strands with my CHI
sometimes i apply straightener serum i dont feel like it does much haha but the one i have is redken
go to bed and sleep on it
straighten it again (not as heavily) when i get up
but i just do this like roughly once a week/ half a week
so i don't like my hair curly but this is what it looks like (ON A VERY GOOD DAY)

I think the only way to get your hair to stop looking burnt and overprocessed is to stop burning and overprocessing your hair... i.e., no more regular flat ironing.
So that said, here are your options:
- Do the NC.com thing and start conditioner-washing, remove *all* silicones and heat styling from your routine, and go curly - your hair will look 100% better, shiny, healthy... but obviously it'll be curly... lol
- ...or you can take your chance with a permanent treatment. I can only vouch for the Japanese treatment as I've had it done, and it made my hair look shiny, frizz free and very "healthy". However I have a curly friend who also got it done and had large amounts of hair break off as a result. So it'd be taking a chance, but you may think the risk is worth it you dream of having shiny straight wash-and-go hair that does not require regular heat styling.
good luck

Last time I flat ironed: Fall 2010
what AA hair conditioner are you using? Some products made for black hair are crap. I used to use one in high school and the beginning of college and I am horrified that I used it now, it had very little beneficial stuff in it and it was a high dose of mineral oil I don't now how any moisture really got through.
Officially Transitioning since March 2011.

Got some kind of curly bangs going here! And I think my bangs are all natural!
I think that my natural hair is somewhere between a 3b and a 3c, I hope it's not too soon to tell! :blob4:
