Mystery illness (TMI warning)

So, at about 4:30 this morning, Nate woke up suddenly and vomited. He hadn't had anything but nursies since about 6 PM. I settled him and had just laid him back down when he got up on all fours and vomited again. Both times, green. I got DH up to help clean and settle him. He fell back to sleep in hubby's arms, woke up about 6:15 nursed and then was fine all day. DH said, if he hadn't known about the barf, he wouldn't have thought N was sick.

I'm trying to figure this out. Some clues: He's cutting his two front top teeth. He also has had fluid in his ears. Maybe it's turned into an ear infection? He is crying when we lay him down. Sometimes. Is this the stomach flu? Are we all ticking time bombs now?

Full disclosure: I have a phobia about vomit, so this really bothers me. I have an OCD need to figure out why this happened. I know I have a problem! So reassurance would be appreciated.

It might be the teeth. Danae used to run a low-grade fever and get diarrhea whenever she was cutting new ones. The green might just be stomach bile, esp. if he hadn't eaten for a while. I hope he's feeling better and that it wasn't anything contagious!

The few times my kids threw up, they seemed fine otherwise. One minute they were playing, then the next - BARF! Then back to playing.

Maybe just call the doctor and see what they say.

This happens with my daughter when she's having allergy or sinus issues. They drain, she pukes. It's pretty gross.

It sounds like sinus draining to me, too, because it's green, he had fluid on the ears and is cutting teeth.

Well, after exactly 24 hours of him being fine and nursing normally, BAM, he barfed again. 30 minutes later, he's fine, but now I have the runs. I'm going to call the pedi today and just see what they say. They have a nurse who can triage.

I thought we had escaped this bug for the season. Neither DS is in day care or school and it ran through my work last month without getting us. Harry has never had it. It seems we might be in for it.

Warning. This might be too much info...but has he been constipated. I had someone tell me their child started barfing green when she was really constipated. She said it smelled like poop though. The doctor said she was so backed up that the body was getting rid of it the other way.

My guess is though that it's allergies or a bug. Hope he feels better and that nobody else gets it. :)

Just got back from the doctor. Ear infection! Again! We had taken him for a re-check in Jan. after his first one and there was fluid. Then he seemed better. Two weeks ago, he seemed off, took him in. Just fluid, no infection. We'd been debating all this week about bringing him for his ears again. Then, the vomiting started. Glad we went. I think that means he's not contagious. Whew! Just picked up the script. I hope this means he can start to feel better. I'm starting to feel crappy, though. This winter can end any time now!

Poor pumpkin! I hope he's feeling better soon. Ear infections are awful.

Well, it may not have been the ear infection that made him barf. Harry started throwing up at about 11:30 this morning. It's now been a couple of hours and he seems better, but that would have been a 48 hour incubation period from Nathans first episode. I think it's a stomach virus, with the added ear infection for N. Just a matter of time before DH and I get it, I'm sure. I've been dreading this since becoming a parent.
