Toddler Underwear rant...

inheritedcurlsinheritedcurls Posts: 2,954Registered Users
Why is it that they put the picture on the back of the underwear? Chas constantly asks if he can have Thomas in the front. I even caught him trying to tear the tag out so he could wear Thomas in the front..(I always tell him tag in the back when he puts his clothes on).

I feel bad for the kid...he loves Thomas and he's trying to turn around and see Thomas on his behind... He has one pair that has little Thomas the train on all over but he can't wear those every day although he would. LOL!!!

Why don't they make kids underwear with the picture on the front...this way you can say Thomas in the front...Scooby in the front..Princess in the front...

Okay, done with my rant today.... :D

Aww! My son does this too! It's so unfair to them.

Poor little guy. I'd probably let him wear the tag in front for Thomas, or cut the tag out. It might be a little uncomfortable that way, but kids usually don't notice such things.

That was one fight I chose not to get into. Korbin insisted that he was right and I was wrong. I really don't care how he wears his underroos. He's the one who has to deal with it if it's uncomfortable. So I let it go. I'd mention they were on backwards from time to time, and left it at that. According to my mom, I'm not the "boss" of my son because of this. :toothy7:

I switched the boys to boxer briefs, and now wears them right.

My big problem is with pants. he doesn't put up a fight with those. but still I have to check all the time to make sure they're not on backwards. I've forgotten a few times. guano rant: I hate kid pants! I seem to have only 2 choices, too short in the legs, or too big around the waist.

Your son must be built like Sol - relatively long and lean. I have to buy pants with a belt or a super-adjustable waist and then tighten them up good.

I guess I could try this. I just really thought it would be uncomfortable. It hasn't been to much of a battle...I actually thought it was pretty ingenious for him to try to get rid of the tag. :) I just hear the question why can't I see Thomas Mommy?

As to pants...I hear you. I never understand why they don't put adjustable waists in pants until they are 2T...annoying. elastic does not help pants stay up. Addison's are constantly falling down...then she trips on the legs.

I know! 2 of DS's underwear have Spiderman on the butt. Anytime he wants to wear them backwards, I just let him. The tags that are on those underwear are flat and flush with the waistband.

I have the opposite problem. I guess 3T pants assume your kid is potty trained bc Dylan's butt doesn't fit. And 4T are waaaaay long. So the poor kid wears sweatpants all the time cuz they stretch. Well, he doesn't mind I'm sure, he just looks like a ruggamuffin all the time.

About the undies, that's pretty dumb. Heck, I'm a grown-up and if I had Thomas on my undies, I'd want him on the front too!

My boys are 15 and 12 and I still have to make sure that pants come with adjustable waists or belt loops. I think manufacturers here think all kids are in the grip of the "obesity epidemic" and make clothes accordingly, it's very frustrating especially as they get picky about what they're wearing.

As to the op, I've never seen undies with pictures on the back! Seriously, what is the point of that? Poor kids.

To the OP Fruit of the Loom makes underoos and underwear that have the design all the way around. I had that problem too with DS and found that FOTL was the best way to go. I always found them in target and WalMart.
