Another DC Lady

Hi, I am so excited about finding this site. About 3 weeks ago I chopped of my relaxed hair and now and sporting my naturally curly hair (I think I'm 3b-c...maybe 4a...still trying to figure that out.....). I am so happy to find a place where curlies have united and are helping each other toward happier hairdom!

Going natural was the best decision I ever made. I went natural and embraced my curls in Feb 2006. My hair has grown like a weed in this DC weather. I usually like the humidity becuase it helps my hair grow. Today it rained all day and so my nice, flat ironed look went poof. I anticipated it and pinned it up, though.
Wishing you luck in your journey.
    I love my curly hair.

Welcome to the site, buttercupdreams! And congrats on your BC(big chop). I couldn't do it, but instead, did alot of mini-chops because I was too chicken. There's so much you're are going to learn and love about your hair. Good luck on your new journey! :D

    Thanks for the welcome everyone!

Shygirl, do you get your haircut in DC? Do you have any recommendations? I went to PIAF near McPherson Sq. Metro and I liked the stylist because I think she is a hair health guru, but I wasn't impressed with the cut. Do you know of anyone who gives a good hair cut?

    Peace out!

I wish I knew of someone that gives good cuts. I haven't had my hair touched by a stylist it over six years. There is a stylist that alot of ladies have raved about in the 3C section. I think her name is Yodit. I can't remember what salon she works at, but I've heard she's really good. You could probably do a search on her name, and maybe something will pop up.
