Pre-pooers: Does Shampoo Really Matter?

I know what to expect when using shampoo on naked hair: stripped, dry, and tangly. :goofy:

My hair detests shampoo.

So, I either a) use a shampoo bar instead or
b) pre-poo

The shampoo bar cleanses while leaving my hair moisturized, it's economical, blah, blah blah. But sometimes I still like to use shampoo.

Pre-pooing is the truth! I coat my hair with condish/oil (sometimes I even put vaseline on my ends ;))
and this helps tremendously. I focus on my scalp, and then let the stuff run down the length.

I only use natural "sulfate-free" shampoos but....

Since prepooing is so effective, is it even necessary to avoid sulfates? Do you think you'd see a difference if you prepooed and used a "harsher" shampoo?

I really don't think the kind of shampoo matters if you pre-poo. This is my alternative to CG. But even still I stick to low poos.
