Do you reuse bath towels?

I don't but my husband will. I always wash after one use. I think germs breed better in the dampness and I don't like the idea of reusing something once it has dried/touched certain areas of my body.

ETA: I also wipe down the tub with my towel when I'm done drying myself off and I wipe up any water that's on the floor. I'm not reusing that on my body. I recycle paper, plastics, and glass. I reuse containers and try to conserve gas by not going anywhere unnecessary and getting all my errands done in the most efficient order. There's a lot of things that I'm 'green' with but I draw the line at reusing a towel. It's just an ick factor with me...real or imagined, it still grosses me out.

I didn't when I lived with my parents, because they had like 900 towels. When I went to college I started reusing because hey, doing laundry costs money. When I was in Peace Corps I owned 1 towel. For over two years. ONE.

For bath towels and washcloths, I use them once and launder. Hand towels can go a couple of days before being laundered.

I reuse bath towels. But, washcloths I only use once, because I like to wash my face in the shower. Once I wash my face, I use it on the rest of my body. I'm definitely not using it again on my face the next day!

The last thing I read about germs (just a few weeks ago) said that it's fine to reuse towels and washcloths, as long as you hang them to dry after use. The reason is that your body is clean when you dry off, so the towel isn't picking up germs there.

I wash my hand towels about twice as often as bath towels because I think they're more apt to be germy.

I reuse bath towels and washcloths. I have a favorite bath towel that I like to use, I have a special scritchy washcloth that I wash my body with, and another soft one that I use for my face.
I just want to do what I want to do when I want to do it.

Yep, I use for about a week(or however often I do laundry). When I get more towels, maybe I'll switch out every 3-4 days. I don't feel gross at all reusing.

I reuse towels. I am clean when I come out of the shower and am just wiping clean water off of myself. I wash them when I do the rest of the laundry.

I always have to wonder how dirty you think you are if your bath towels are dirty after a shower. I mean, sure, I get sweaty at the gym, but once I shower, no more sweat! Plus, I work in an office, back in the day when I was a field biologist and spending my days doing grosser things, I was a little quicker to wash towels. But, not now, I am not a breeding ground for germs, I am a normal, hygienic person.

Seriously, if you're still that dirty after a shower, I think reusing your towel is the least of your worries! :D

This is not something I've ever thought about-- and now that I'm thinking about it, it's not going to change my mind or towel use at all. I use for a week and then replace

Totally. Even many hotels now ask that you reuse your towel if you're staying more than one night.

I reuse ... I am picky about letting it dry though. I put my bath towel over the shower rod and this way it has lots of air to dry it. That way it is never left damp for long. I would feel too guilty using all that water to wash them after every use ...

I reuse. In this bathroom it's bigger and not so stuffy so they dry well. I wash more often in the Summer though. I wash them weekly in the winter - probably after 3 days in the Summer. I use my hands to wash my face so the same goes for the washcloths.

I know people who think that taking a bath means soaking in your own dirt. I don't get it --- I'm not that dirty. And even if I am, it doesn't bug me.

So, yes, I reuse a towel. Pretty much until it occurs to me to wash it. I now compare myself to my exes, though, when it comes to cleanliness, so I guess my standards have fallen.

The only time I don't reuse a towel is if it's soaking wet. And even then I just hang it on the line in back and let it dry or get washed and re-dried in the rain.

(I don't think I smell. My family would definitely say something if I did, I'm sure. And the dogs don't care.)

I reuse them. For one, I'm clean when I get out of the shower. Secondly, I'd be doing laundry CONSTANTLY if I had a dirty towel every single day. Thirdly, it's not very green.

    What!??!! :O

Seriously? I've never heard of anyone washing a towel after every use. Thats pointless.

Hang it out to dry after using it. Thats what towel rails are for. My towel is never damp the next time I go to use it. Nor is it full of germs.

We all reuse at home. I do make sure to hang them up so that they're completely dry by the next time we shower. I can't stand drying off with a damp towel.

I used to wash after every use before I met my husband. I thought that's what everyone did. Hubby reuses towels, and convinced me to do the same. I will not, however, reuse washcloths like he does.

I've never met anyone else that does this. Everyone I know reuses their towel at least two times. My husband was like, "What the heck happened to my towel? I just hung it up yesterday," 'cause I'd grab it when I was getting ready to wash clothes. That was early on in our marriage. He used to try to explain to me that it wasn't dirty since our bodies are clean. I just don't want to accidentally dry my face with the part that's been on my butt or other area. He's gotten used to it now. I leave his and my son's towels alone now and they toss 'em in the laundry when they're ready.

Same thing happened to me! He would wonder where his towel went and got upset about it a few times. I thought it was normal to wash them after using them. Even now, I just reuse once and then wash. I figure we're still "green" since he uses his for way longer. :goofy:

    :)

I do recycle, conserve gas, reuse what I can instead of just buying new, turn lights off that aren't necessary, don't leave the water running while brushing my teeth and so forth. I don't see the harm in washing it after one use especially since I always wash a full load and one towel doesn't take up that much room and doesn't use extra water. I'd be washing that load with or without the towel.

    I reuse bath towels.

    New wash cloth every day.

I have wash cloths that I use only for my face and those are changed every other day.
