I had this a few times in the last six or so months. I did some research online and found that it can be caused by exhaustion and stress. For me I think it was exhaustion because it seemed to happen when I stayed up late watching tv. It is very frustrating so I make sure I get plenty of sleep now!

You need more minerals, like calcium, magnesium, and if you're under stress, b vitamins.

For me it happens when i am stressed, sleep-deprived, and have consumed too much caffeine!

+1 That's what causes it. I've had it a few times.

i've had the same thing for years and it started getting worse in the past 6 months. 2 months ago i went to see my doctor and he told me to drink more water, stop playing on the computer so much and take vitamins and minerals.

    it hasn't helped.

my left eye is getting worse and now i can tell the right one is about to start.

for me, it doesn't help that i used to work for the head of neurology at the Ottawa Hospital - i know every disease that this could be a symptom of and i'm terrified.

    :(

Hi Rou, if it's any help my (limited) understanding is that neurological disorders which result in eye twitching usually have something else twitching before the eyes get involved. Apparently botox is being used in some cases which stops the twitching. Are you planning to see an eye dr.? I've had twitching and I know it can be annoying, but its very rarely anything serious. At least, so I was told by my eye dr.

i wonder if it has anything to do with the headaches ive been getting lately. i work on the computer and play on it at home, and every doctor told me to get my eyes checked.

which i did thursday and she was with me for an hour testing my eyes. she didn't want to say eye strain cause she said my eyes aren't 100% but she isnt quite sure if just giving me glasses will help so i have to see a specialist for further examination.

i dont know what the heck is going on with my body now.

I've the eye-twitch thing happen all my life. It's always at periods when I'm very stressed. It happens daily for months, but it takes really hardcore stress to bring it on.

RCW, I have mine now to boot on top of being exhausted. I actually left work early yesterday and came home and got in the bed and I can't call myself twitches right now. I probably needed the rest.
