does anybody know any experienced Curly Hair stylist from the philippines

I want to try out the Angle Balance cut made famous by the curve salon, only problem is Im based here in the Philippines. I was thinking of showing my stylist-to-be how to do it.

I havent had a proper haircut since my BC,(well I tried shaping it with an ordinary pair of scissors which I know is a bad idea.) Please suggest some sylists in country.

Hello, I'm based from QC and I know this reply may be too late to be of use but

    local forums would suggest..

Shiela / Rose of Azta Urban Salon ( katipunan and makati respectively), Jing Monis of Propaganda..

let senior stylists from high end salons take a look at your hair and ask if they know the angle balance cut..or deva cut.

my friend is sporting this really cute wavy bob..she had it done at a cheap salon...they ironed her hair straight first then proceeded with a layered bob cut, shampooed then dried...it turned out amazing on her. I dunno if that would work on all curly/wavy hair...

Hello! I'm also based in QC, I have heard of Rose from Azta Metrowalk but I haven't heard of Shiela from Katipunan.

I have curly hair and I want to chop off the part that's straight. I don't know what method is appropriate for my hair though. :(

Do they have really good reviews?

Hi guys! i've been looking for curly hair stylists in the Philippines. Sad to say, I just found out that the popular Rose from Azta Metrowalk and Shiela from Azta Katipunan are now no longer connected to Azta.

I asked them and they recommended Mr. Jo from Azta Katipunan. I have yet to try him and I'm kind of apprehensive so I'm still keeping my options open for other recommendations.

Please tell me if you have found good stylists within Metro Manila!

I still haven't had my haircut since I posted last feb. So girls if you found a good stylist let me know. :)

update: So I have my haircut at David's Salon Rob Manila. T'was horrible --the experience as well as the haircut. The stylists gave me this why-on-earth-do-you-wanna-keep-your-curls or we-should-have-this-straightened-asap look.

I actually wanted to hair a dry haircut but I was too shy to ask them to do it. So, I allowed her to cut two inches off which turned out really short on me.

She also left a couple of 1a's on my nape a little longer than other. She didn't even notice that my hair has different textures. So the cut made me look like an octopus or something.

Right now, I'm waiting for my hair to grow for a month. I'd definitely have the 1a's chopped shorter. Also, I was thinking of getting a curly fringe ala Corbi Bleu. I'll see what works though.

I dont know anyone but im interested to know too and i think this is a good business idea in the Philippines - a salon like Devachan. I, myself, have a naturally wavy hair. When I was in high school, i have tried relaxing, straightening, and until the birth of rebond ive tried all these. Rebonding services in the Philippines is as much as a convenient store if u get what i mean.. Filipinos are just overly obssessed with having straight hair and didnt appreciate having curls. They would even have home service for rebonding. I would want to be a proponent of having a curl specialized salon in Manila. I just dont know how to make that happen. Unlike other south east Asian countries, Philippines is a mixed breed of nationalities being conquered by Americans, Spanish and Japanese regimes. Thus, giving a big chunk of the population the tendency to have natural waves and curls.
If only there is a specialized salon for curly haired Filipinos, im sure im one of the people who would be bery happy!

Here in Singapore where Im temporarily living now, girls are dying of getting perm and volume! While in Philippines, people are just promoting too much of straight hair and it's sickening! 🤒😷🤐

I was thinking about the same thing, too. Since going to the salon has been traumatic to curly-haired girls (getting unprofessional comments from salon employees), maybe it's a great opportunity to have a salon specifically for curly girls like us. I struggled in finding information about curly hair care catered for Filipino hair. It seems that no one was brave enough to make a book or something about embracing curly-wavy hair. Filipinos seem to have an obsession on artificially straight hair. But then again, probably it's because no one knew enough information on how to take care of wavy-curly hair. I'd love to author a book about caring for Filipino curly hair in the future. We could be co-authors.. *wink* Or we can create waves in the curly market by opening a curly girl salon here in the Philippines in the future. hehe :)
