Is this new growth or just wishful thinking?

When I brush out my hair and pull it back I see lots of
1 1/4" hairs especially in the thinnest areas. I have never noticed this before plus I have been getting good root lift for a month and a half. Am I getting some new growth or is this just wishful thinking?

Sounds like it. When mine started growing back in at my thinning temple a couple of years ago, that's exactly how mine did.

You know, I kept wondering the same thing, but now mine are so long I can't deny it. Hehehe, its actually new growth. I do have a patch that is losing and then regrowing, but it seems to be getting thicker and staying a little thicker.

I am not sure what is causing my hair to regrow. I tend to get low on iron so I have been making sure I get enough , the same with vit D, the last time I tested it was still low but maybe it is normal now. I have been regularly brushing and massaging my scalp . I have also been massaging Cocoveda, emu, and/or sea buckthorn oils at night for the past couple months. Plus my job has been less stressful.

Most everything Heather mentions except the regular brushing (only occasionally, very carefully, just before washing) and the products she massages into her scalp. I do scalp massages, usually with no product at all but every once in a while with Komaza Hair Nourishment Oil (can't stand the smell, so I don't do it often enough or leave it in as long as I otherwise would). Plus no sulfates, few silicones, Komaza honeycomb rejuvenating treatement fairly regularly on hair and scalp, regular protein treatments, and regular DT's.

I also take a biotin/chromium supplement for glucose stabilization, glucosamine with MSM for joints, and wild salmon oil for cardio, joints, etc., so the biotin, MSM and omega 3's probably help hair condition and growth, too. I also just try to eat a better, well balanced diet more regularly than I used to.

Before all this and before going modified CG when I was really having a problem with hair loss at one temple a couple of years ago, I took pricey Phytophanere vitamins for hair and nails for four months and used a Renee Futerer treatment that came in little vials - both seemed to help.

I was still using sulfates at that time, including strong medicated shampoos, which didn't help. I wasn't yet taking the biotin, MSM, vitamin D and fish oil, just a regular multi-vitamin and natural vitamin E (both of which I still take). I also wasn't doing any protein treatments and seldom any deep conditioning because silicone products fooled me into thinking I didn't need them!

I was also probably quite low in iron at that time, having extremely heavy periods in perimenopause. Now, that's stopped, and Fe levels test OK.

    Hope something here helps!
