I plop because it reduces my diffusing time from up to an hour to about 15minutes. I add product the plop in a microfiber turban for 15-20 minutes. My definition depends on the product I use (still experimenting) and diffusing ads to my curlyness because the weight of the water pulls the curl out of my hair.

All three reasons. My curls are curlier, more defined and i can walk out the house half an hour after washing it with only damp yet volumized hair rather than drippy, hangy hair. I use a t-shirt, pile my hair in it, and tied it around my head bandanna style.

Uh honestly I don't really know why I plop. Mostly to speed drying time, I guess, but I also want some more curl definiton.

    This is how I plop:

    -Get a big t-shirt
-Put t-shirt on toilet (with the lid down!), with the head whole facing the right and the end facing the left (or the other way around, it really does not matter), and one side of the sleeve/side of the shirt facing towards you, the oher side logically facing away from you.
-Flip your hair upside down onto the t-shirt
    - Get your hair in the middle-front-ish of the t-shirt and kind of gather the front, back, and sides and just put a pony tail holder around all of it. It's notthing fancy, but it works. My hair isn't really on top of head, though...it's more to the back.
    3b/c...or thereabouts.

I usually do it with the neck opening facing me, pile my hair in the area between the chest and neck, push my head down on my hair, flip the body of the shirt over my head, and take the sleeves, bring them around to the back of my head, and tie it over the body of the shirt. It keeps my hair piled on top of my head and helps squeeze the excess water out, it stays pretty sturdy tied on my head.

I mainly plop for volume. It also removes excess water so my hair doesn't drip too much. 10-15 minutes with a microfiber towel. Any more than that, and my curls are really stretched out.

Definition, curl at the root. lift at the root and faster drying time. I put my products in my hair then plop for 10 to 20 minutes.

I do it because it gives me tighter curls and more volume, especially at the roots. An added bonus is that it gets my wet hair up and out of the way so it doesn't drip all over me while I'm getting dressed. I apply products and then plop for about 20 minutes or so.

I plop for curl enhancement, esp at the roots. Now that it's getting colder in the morning, the faster drying time is an added bonus.

I plop mostly to shorten drying time, but also to help define the curls.
In the old days I just wrapped my hair up in a towel to help it dry. Now I scrunch my hair up into a pile on top of my head, then wrap my head in a towel/turban. Both ways dry my hair, but plopping helps the curls come out.

well, I had to pick one so I chose "speeds drying time". I plop mainly for curl definition at the roots and also for drying time. This also seems to help hold my curls better since my hair is in one place and not moving while it is drying.

I bend over, put the turban on the back of my head, go right side up, making sure my hair is on top of my head, and then wrap and secure the turban. I use the Scuncii MF turban.

My main reason for plopping is to speed up the drying time from several hours to a few hours. I take my smooth, stretchy tshirt, place it on the bed upside down (collar at the bottom), bend over and as I get close to the shirt, I gently pull it together in one clump and make sure it's right in the center of my crown area. Then while I'm still bent over and head into the tshirt, I take a sleeve in each hand and bring them around to the back to meet, transfer them to one hand, then with the other hand I grab the long part of the shirt and bring it underneath the sleeves and tie the sleeves together over it.

Sounds complicated but it's not. It's just the way I explain things.

I've been doing this lately and it really does help with my 3b-c curl formation even just using a regular towel.

Any suggestions where to get a good towel just for this?

    CoWash: VO5 kiwi
