Hairspray?

AngellaAngella Registered Users Posts: 5
I've been curly girl for some time, and since I started I haven't used hairspray. I was looking at old pictures and decided my hair simply looks better with hairspray. Gel and mousse just don't give me the same results.

I know there's lists, but I was just wondering if anyone knew of any CG hairsprays that weren't too expensive. (No more than $5 if possible)

Some posted that they use LA Sports Gel (CG friendly) instead of hairspray.

You can put LA Sports Gel in the forum search bar and read about it.

I'm relatively new to CG, but I've been using Tresemme naturals (with sweet orange) finishing spray. I don't see any buildup and have been using it almost daily.

I've also heard the Giovanni LA Hold hairspray is also CG. I just bought it today so will be trying it out in the morning.

I believe I have this right, if not someone LMK. Here is what I just posted to a hairspray question on the 2 boards.

According to the CG rules from the book, drying alcohol is not allowed. What makes most hair sprays function is the drying alcohol. It is what makes the hairspray dry quickly. It also drys out the hair.
I believe there is one hairspray out there (I forget the product) that is CG with no drying alcohols and no cones. However, a hairspray that does not dry quickly would not do the things most people want hairspray to do.
P.S. I plan on using an occasional spritz of cone free hairspray. I just haven't picked one up yet.

Funny you should recommend the LA sports gel, because that's what I have been using recently. It has fairly good results, but I find I have to use too much of it to get it to do what I want.

Honestly I'm not too concerned with following every little rule for CG. As long as doesn't put something in my hair that I can only get out with shampoo, I'm fine with it.

And thanks, Sarah. I'll look into that Giovanni hairspray. =]

My 2 cents. I love BRHG. It has a hard hold, dries crunchy, but has a soft feel after you SOTC. It is 13$ a bottle however.
