Probably the first or second week of January - but only because we have live trees and A. they get so dry and B. the city will only pick them up on certain dates. If I had an artificial tree, god knows how lazy I'd be taking it down. I'd probably end up throwing a blanket over it in April and just leaving it up until Christmas comes around again.
I haven't got the slightest idea how to change people, but I still keep a long list of prospective candidates just in case I should ever figure it out.

Yes we get real trees too and the latest is the second week of January (also we won't get it sooner than 2 weeks before Christmas)

I can see leaving a fake tree up longer. I have a friend from high school whose birthday is in mid March. Another friend and I went to her house for her birthday and the tree was still up.:evil4:

The latest I left the tree decorated and in the living room would be mid-January. But, before we had kids, we had two extra bedrooms, so for a few years, I would take off the ornaments, then move the tree, with the lights still on, into the room we used the least. Saved a lot of time both in January and the next December!

I once left the tree up until August. It was a bad year...big death in the family and lots of upheaval. We just sort of abandoned the room for most of that year, because we couldn't deal with undecorating it.

This is only the third year we've had a Christmas tree. We never bothered with one before we had kids. I think this year was the latest we've taken it down--January 9th. The holiday decorations must be up at least through New Year's, because DS1's birthday is Dec. 31 and they count as his birthday decorations too.

I have an artificial tree...and it's still up! I've been meaning to take it down but I've been busy. I do plan to take it down tonight - thanks for the reminder! :)

Mine is still up. It's a little thing--2ft high and artificial. It sits on the little table in the den. I don't plan on putting it away anytime soon.

    Too lazy, I guess.

mid april. and the reason that it came down then is because thats when MIL makes her annual spring visit.

since we got rid of the fake tree and had a real one this year, we were forced to take it down shortly after christmas.

Probably about the second week of January is the latest I've left one up. I normally take it down the weekend after New Years Day.

January 1st is the latest I've left it. I have a fake tree and I always decorate the day after Thanksgiving and take down on New Year's Day. I got this from my mom. This year was the first year I took it down early. We got a ping pong table and the tree was in the way, so I went ahead and took it down the day after Christmas even though it made me a little sad.

January 23rd, this year. I'm so glad to see we weren't the only ones with it up so late. It had to come down because last Monday was the last garbage day it would be picked up.
Tonight we're going to a friend's house to watch them torch their tree. It's amazing, frightening, exhilarating to witness how quickly the fire explodes.

This is me. Usually, it's about on the 27th or 28th and DH always b*****$ about it, but I don't care. He doesn't help put it up, so he has no say when it comes down. This year, all I did was put up our twig tree and stick a bow on top. I SO don't care about a tree. But back to the OP...the latest I ever took it down was on Jan. 24th. That was many many years ago and I remember the date because it was my son's bday. He was a baby and I was just too busy to bother w/it.

We just took our artificial tree down last weekend (Jan 24). I usually like to do it the weekend following Jan 6 (Epiphany) as that was how we did it growing up. It always used to go up the weekend following Thanksgiving, but now that we go to the in-laws each year, we have to wait until the next weekend or so. It took hubby a couple of weeks to get the tree out so we could put it up this year, late.

Although the tree is down, I still have some holiday decorations up on the mantle, etc. We love our snowmen and poinsettias. :D They are winter decorations, not just Christmas anyway. ;)

January 2nd. My tree usually comes down on December 31st or January 1st. My birthday is January 3rd and I don't want it mingled with the holiday season. That and, once Christmas is over I'm done with the tree and see no reason for it to still be here. We're going to start taking it down on the 26th.
