The 2 Forum's "Dirty Little Secret"

Well, it's finally happened for real. The 2 forum's runnerchicki is up and running, LOL! For those of you who haven't been following, runnerchicki cooks up "goo" in her kitchen. I found out about it too late to try everything--but did sample the Repairing Protein Treatment and her Jelly. If the other products are as good, she'll have great success. Here's the Esty Store link:

/home/leaving?target=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.etsy.com%2Fshop%2FSpiralSolutions" class="Popup

I know a lot of the 2's who tired these products couldn't wait to be able to buy them. I'm sure they will give better detail then I.

kathy -- you've had me intrigued by this line and i've been reviewing the website. now, i, who is not really a pj, just placed an order!! :-)
only thing i did not order is the protein treatment as my hair does not tolerate a lot of protein and it contains guar hc in it which my hair absolutely will not tolerate.
i have my fingers crossed for the other 3 products and cannot wait to try them!!
will post when i receive them and given them a fair try.

    3a, some 2c & 3b, medium texture, porosity normal, low elasticity :-(

    You caught us :laughing6:

I personally have only used the curling jelly, firm hold gel, and emollience. All are excellent. I have my best hair days with the jelly and FHG. If my hair would let me use the same stuff day in and day out I would be set.

Once my PT that I have runs out I will definitely be buying hers.

Bonus for her products is that the jelly, emollience, and butters can be used both on hair and skin. Once you are done putting it in your hair you can just smooth the rest into your hands :toothy6:

    Excellent stuff!

    I'm so excited!

I can review many of the products:

Curling Jelly: This stuff is amazing everyone. I have ROOT RINGLET's and spiral's all over--and my under ringlet's were tight, smooth and shiny. Remember my canopy is kind of straight so to get not only curl but root curl that spiral's or ringlet's is not that common! If you are looking for shrinkage or tighter curl you ought to try this!

Firm Hold Gel: This works great for me. I scrunch some in after the curling jelly and then start diffusing. After a few minutes I scrunch some more in. That kind of double whammy seems to set it great in my hair. Holds all day. Much more natural..and doesn't smell chemically like my BRHG and CHi. I alternate products as well but this one's a keeper!

Repairing Protein Treatment: Another amazing product. It's thin so spreads very easily. Smells great and is not overpowering--NONE of her products have that really over powering smell that lingers forever. All have a nice smell that doesn't wham you when you open the cover. This works better for me than any other PT I've used including Apoghee and Nexxus Emergencee. My fine hair loves protein and this gives it what seems like the largest shot it can--and after protein momma's hair is happy :) :) :) When I get my bottle I'll try it as rinse out and leave in as well--to get an idea.

Deep Treatment (not yet up at the website at the time of this review). OMG.OMG.OMG. It took about two tsp to do one half of Tahia's hair. Unheard of. This stuff is so thick at first you wonder how it will spread but the slip on this is incredible. Smells great and absolutely gives you the moisture shot. I tried it on my son's back nape area where his hair is turning coarse and it made that hair soft--and it's hardly ever soft! Super moisturizing--I could not use as rinse out but my daughter could--let her hair soft and felt awesome. No residue.

Emollience--hair butter but melts into your hand...does not leave any residue. The test one didn't have a real prominent smell so I can't address that. This stuff tames frizzes like no ones business. Love, Love, Love. Does not cause string hair (some butters and oils can make my hair lean toward stringy since they coat strands)..not this one! Plus as a body butter it is divine!

The overall consensus of the 2's board was that the products were some of the best we've ever tried.

For me the Curling Jelly is my HG--I'm all 3A/3B with this stuff!

I'm going to blog this weekend on it

I've tried the emollience and the Deep conditioner. I would just be an echo of everything that Alex said. Really the DC has amazing slip and I used about 2 tsp for ALL my hair. I could of used more but that is a huge difference with half a jar of CJCR. The emollience is awesome it disappeared into my hair no greasy feeling just shiny and smooth.

I've ordered both and the curling jelly. I haven't had a chance to try the jelly. I doubt it will replace my beloved [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Kinky-Curly-Curling-Custard-p-778.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=kinkycurly-curling-custard]KCCC[/buylink], I have a dependent relationship with that stuff. But I'm hoping it will enhance it.

With all the discussion about homemade products not being homemade, Shantelle (aka runnerchicki) emailed me this today:

"Something that I haven't mentioned before, but I think it is important for people to know: I DO NOT use pre-made bases. Ever. I created each and every formula myself and I mix them myself. I even make my own version of Seamollient (it's a trademarked product) so I can get the exact texture and consistency that I want. I select my own herbs, mix to my own ratios, infuse my own oils...you get the idea. I even make my own labels, although I am not sure I will continue to do that for much longer!"

Have to say that I was impressed!

There are a few lines that have recently piqued my interest, but I knew right away for whatever reason that I wanted to try her products. I ordered the gelly, deep moisture & protein treatements. I may actually mix a small amt of the protein co with the moisture one. Hopefully she'll have the daily co & stronger gel available soon, but maybe layering with FSG will be enough for now. I've lost a ton of curl this winter, so these products sound like they could help. :)

I was going to say something in that forum because I knew she did create each one. She would update her fotki forum about tweaking things and figuring out the right balance of things, etc.

You can tell on her etsy site too. If she was just using a base and adding EO she would never be sold out, which she always is (shows how much we love her stuff)!
