Mild frustrations with curly kid; new to CG as well.

I'm not sure what I'm asking for exactly, but I do need to vent a little. I just started the CG method in my household. I'm maybe a 2b/possibly a 2c, fine hair, but a lot of it. I've got my products down so far and my hair is looking amazing.

My daughter (2), on the other hand isn't looking that great. She has short hair with loose curls. It's a pretty fine texture. With our old method, I'd wash with Burt's Bees, condition with 'cones, and use a natural leave-in (Jason). If her hair was crazy in the morning, I'd spray with water and add more leave-in. Usually it turned out well. Her curls would be tighter, and high up the back of her head.

Now...it's a different story. I find her hair more fluffy with the curls giving more of a poof'd effect. I'm doing the same routine with her that I'm doing on my own hair. I'm figuring that she and I have very different hair.:scratch:

I'm really not sure where to start in trying to figure out what will work for her. It seems like 'cones worked so well.:sad8: Anyone been through this? Can you just tell me I'll be able to figure this out.

maybe her hair is reacting to the silicones. when i first found this site, i wasnt convinced that i needed to get rid of 'cones because my hair looks great and behaves well with them. and then after a while my hair lost its mind. it was because of silicone buildup. so i just had to ditch the silicones and i havent looked back ever since.

your daughter's hair looks similar to my little girl's. some of my favorite products to use on her are:
- california baby calming conditioner (great leave in and rinse out conditioner)

- kniny curly curling custard or spiral spritz (i find that they give the same effect on my daughter's hair. i prefer the spiral spritz because its cheaper and comes in a smaller size)

my daughter sleeps on a satin pillowcase and satin sheets to preserve her curls and cut down on tangles and ive also draped a silk scarf over the back of her carseat for the same reason.
