Paris, TX

So I am trying to find a stylist in or around the Dallas area...I live in Paris, Tx which is about 2 hours outside of Dallas, and I would be willing to drive the distance :0 If I could get recs on one who would be worth it.

I had read good things about the Style Hutch in Plano...but then I recently read a bunch of not good things ...

Would really like a stylist who is friendly on the budget also.

TIA

I'm in North Dallas area, not far from The Styling Hutch. There was a guy that used to work there and then he went off on his own. I think his name starts with a V. I am not very helpful with this, I know. But if you search NC.com by "Styling Hutch" or "Plano" you may find the threads about him. IIRC, several curlies have gone to him and they really liked the results, but he was pricey.

ETA: Valdeh! I think that was his name. And if you do a board search by his name 3 threads come up mentioning him. IHTH.

I went to valdeh and wasn't extremely impressed to be honest. I had high hopes. I don't think the "specialty cut" (carve and slice) is for me. It didn't do much for my hair. I was really more interested in getting layers but he said I needed the carve and slice type of cut. I spent $100 on a haircut that didn't really make a huge difference in the appearance of my hair.
I'm gonna try anthony at norwood and co. next.....there are a lot of reviews for him and most are good.

I have a date  with Anthony on Feb 13...(not superstitous) and I am sure that I spelled that wrong.

I haven't had my hair cut since 8-09 and it is def needing to be shaped...I am excited....

I will keep you all posted.

I will try and take before and after pictures.

Yes, please report back and let us know how it goes! I would like to go see him, possibly in March.

4Melanie, just wondering how you liked your cut with Anthony? I am again going through my phase where I think I might call Valdeh (since he's so convenient to my house). So I need inspiration.
