products for CG method?? damaged 3a/3b hair

I've been looking through the threads and see that the CG method has worked for a LOT of people.

I am multiracial, but ethnic products are too heavy. My hair is 3a/3b and damaged from the flat iron and coloring. The ends of my hair are stick straight, while the rest is still pretty wavy/curly.

I'm going to get the ends trimmed off of my hair to get rid of the straight pieces, and want to begin the CG method.

Any suggestions on which products to begin using or extra tips on styling?

There are CG products listed on the left side of the girl with curl blog
Which products you use will depend on the properties of your hair. You already know your curl pattern 3a/3b. You also need to know porosity, thickness, texture (fine, medium, coarse),and elasticity. This will help you figure out if you need more moisture, more protein, etc.
Check the newbies please read section. The college curlies guide to going CG has a lot of good info as well.

for styling, check out the pixie curl method
and plopping. There are lots of videos on youtube for plopping.
You will have to experiment to see what works for you. Some people cannot diffuse. Some people can't plop. Some people can plop for 20 minutes but not for an hour. Others are the opposite.

Good luck. (a blog to help new wavies, go to the how do I get started page)
