Am I a 4a or 4b?

I also have ordered the maxiglide flat iron, will this straighten my curl until I finish my transition? What product to use to flat iron?

I am trying to hang on but I need help with my new growth. I work in a office and can't got to work lookin crazy.

It's hard to tell from the photographs what type your hair is -- maybe 4A? Once you wash and deep condition you'll be able to decipher.

I don't know where you work, but I work for an extremely conservative law firm (no dress down days, no sandals in the summer, etc.) and they have been accepting of my hair. I get a few what in the world is she doing looks, but mostly people seem to embrace my acceptance of my natural hair. You won't look crazy, you'll be fine and you'll be beautiful and you'll be accepted.

4A&B -- Henna and the entire Essential Balms product line; lately Carol's Daughter honey mimosa & black vanilla leave-in. Staple products are SheaMoisture, Aubrey Organics and Trader Joes Norish Spa conditioner, ACV and IC Fantasia Gel. I'm also Mixtress (I love making my own hair concoctions :glasses9:)

Be encouraged -- Cuzz Fuzz is what it Duzz!!

Is that the one with the teeth?

It's better to use a flatiron without teeth as the teth yank resistant hair like a straightening comb and contributes to traction hairloss.

For hair resistant to straightening, the jilbere ceramic-coated 1-inch is really good, it doesn't pull or snag and it's only $50bucks.

The Chi is also very nice.

Before flatironing, you could simply use a little avocado butter as a
leave-in and allow hair to air dry. And then flatiron hair as usal.
    products:
co-washing with any Aubrey Organics product
Olive Oil +/under leave-in for super soft hair!
Whipped Karite/Shea or Avocado butter leave-in
Also lots of water, pilates and meditation

I've worked in the corporate world since the late eighties and have had some variation of textured hair all that time. I texturized it down to 3c up until last year. I finally have allowed it to come into its natural 4a state. To me looking professional means having healthy, natural-looking hair in a flattering cut, styled in a way that makes me feel attractive as well as comfortable. I'm in a business casual environment, but have traveled to visit customers and gone to industry conferences and done nothing different to my hair.

For me ageism is more of an issue than natural hair. I don't see myself transitioning to grey anytime soon

I wish you a wonderful natural hair journey.

Playing with my hair is a hobby. Fluffy, fine natural 4a. Goal= Healthy, beautiful hair that retains its length.
Hear that crash? It's me falling off the CG wagon.
