Buildup/Itchy Scalp fixer

I've seen a lot of posts about buildup and itchy scalps, and as it would take forever to reply to them all, I'm just going to give what always works for me here.

For my itchy scalp and buildup, I use a spray bottle, and fill it about 1/4 - 1/2 up with Apple Cider Vinegar (nothing fancy - just the Walmart brand). Then I fill the rest up with water.

It's a great natural leave-in conditioner, but what's more, it zaps buildup and the itchy scalp problems for me. Just spray it wherever it's itchy, or use it as a leave-in for maintenance. Be sure to get it on your scalp!

I'm curious to know if anyone else tries this, or practises this regularly. :toothy10:

Routine: COwash with vo5 conditioner once or twice a week
Clarify with a Suave sulfate once every month or two
Apple Cider Vinegar + water = leave in

I suffer from itchy, dry scalp especially before going CG.... now that I am an official CG I do not use any shampoo, and last week I tried an ACV rinse for the first time (since going CG about a month ago) and it helped out a lot. I hear that it can be really drying if used too often though, so I would only do it once a month or so. If it works for you thats awesome! I also sometimes mix my co-wash with lemon juice and sugar if I get a little itchy or oily and that helps too

I use it regularly, more for my scalp than for my hair, but I rinse it out. I've tried leaving it in but, but I smelled it all day - maybe it was all in my head.

Yes, it can be drying. StruttsWife advises no more than once a week (a popular CG hair stylist here - see
