Products that can work on two texture hair?

Just started transitioning and I want to make sure both type of hair are moisturized. I get the best results when I use natural products on both types of hair though because my hair is getting what it needs. So... what are your favorite conditioners? Any that may be easily accessible? :dontknow: I can't really order to many products online it's a little silly but it makes me nervous not having control of when the product arrives.

Hi, I know it can be tough and painstakingly in some instances trying to figure the right combination for your strands in this delicate state. With regards to products, I prefer rich conditioners without silicone based ingredients. Readily available conditioners that I like are Trader Joe's conditioners (nourishing spa and tingling tea tree) and even VO5 conditioners (kiwi clarifying and strawberries and creme). I've even heard that Kirklands puts out some good conditioners. Now styling products are a little more difficult to assess because it depends on what hold factor you're looking for. If going for a protective style I like to leave in either some of the conditioners mentioned above or some Paul Mitchell The Conditioner or [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Elucence-Moisture-Balancing-Conditioner-p-39.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=elucence-elucence-moisture-balancing-conditioner]Elucence MBC[/buylink] and lightly apply shea butter to the ends and crown. For a more set hold, ecostyler makes a pretty decent olive oil gel that you can apply on top of the conditioner. You can also use an aloe vera gel as well. Kinky curly is also a good option and is sold at most Whole Foods. Otherwise, there are a plethora of other options online but I think you mentioned you wanted to stick to local options which is smart considering shipping and handling costs can grip your wallet.

Im been transitioning for almost 8 mths and I use Garnier Fructis Triple Moisture Conditioner. It really moisturizes and makes both hair textures soft. I also a homemade hair gel to keep the ends together or smooth my edges.

So would most of the suggestions you would purchase at Whole Foods? I heard thats a good place to get natural products and don't really know where I would purchase Trader Joes and [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Elucence-Moisture-Balancing-Conditioner-p-39.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=elucence-elucence-moisture-balancing-conditioner]Elucence MBC[/buylink]. I know where Garnier is though! :love5: I have raw shea butter but I don't know what to exactly do with it to get the best results. I came in a little container and it's kind off hard to get out. :disgust:

This isn't a specific suggestion, but I found that while I was transitioning, my natural hair was pickier. If I satisfied my natural growth (which is prone to dryness but very manageable), then my straight parts were happy too.

Since I've BC-ed, however, I no longer have ANY tolerance for protein. I'm not sure why or how my natural growth tolerated protein (I used Giovanni Direct Leave In and [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Elucence-Moisture-Balancing-Conditioner-p-39.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=elucence-elucence-moisture-balancing-conditioner]Elucence Moisture Balance[/buylink] Conditioner with GREAT success...now I hate them both) before the BC...

But if it helps, what's in my signature worked while I was transitioning (except the KMF and L'Oreal - I never tried the L'Oreal and the KMF is still not a fave really).

I noticed my new growth was a tad bit more greedy lately. Thanks to your advice I'm going to take extra care to moisturize my hair. I guess that means more oil huh? I'm sorry but I really can't tell what are those products in your signature besides the ones you told me to ignore. Can you translate please? :happy11:
