So I'm growing out my natural hair and just got a job as a stripper?? Styles?? Help?

I don't know whether to get braided extensions, a lace front wig, or what else for my new job.
I'm real nervous. I'm like the first ethnic girl to work in this club and I dunno if braided extensions would be found "attractive" or "exotic" to the audience I'll be dancing for...

I know wearing a lace front wig will allow me to care for my hair thoroughly because I can always take it off but I dunno if it'll hold up on stage. I think if I pin it down and clip it down right it should...

I know braids will hold but I dunno if my hair will still be able to be maintained properly and I just bought a bunch of afroveda products that I can't wait to use...

What should I do?
My natural hair is very short right now and I'm looking for a longer alternative...
I don't want to mess with weaves or sew ins or glue (Bad memories and hair loss) or cornrows with whatever style I get.
Any tips? Advice? Ways to keep it maintained while dancing? :?:

I think we have another mole.
Yes, it's real. No, you can't touch it. :wav:

How short is your hair? Can you go for a one of those nice afros? I think they look sexy especially with hoops earings. look at this link, I think they look terrific http://charcoalink.wordpress.com/2009/01/22/fashion-notes-the-top-10-sexiest-natural-afro-hair-styles/

It is extremely short and I do not want to wear it out. I want a long protective style until I can grow out my real hair. Those afros are nice but mine is not long.

Okay, well with no help from anyone, I've decided to wear the lace fronts to dance in. It will allow me to take care of my natural hair, and then when my natural hair grows longer, of course I'll wear out my natural hair to work.
Jeez you all act as if I'm such a bad person for not wanting to wear my real hair to work.
I'm not stripping with a twa, sorry, it's not happening. It's not my thing. I love long hair and I know my beautifully textured hair will grow long one day but right now, I need a long alternative to wear to work. Plain and simple.
Wow this forum is so "helpful"

Hi! I unfortunately don't have a suggestion as to how you wear your hair since I'm not that original and pretty much wear mine the same way every day (just plain old down) but I wanted to let you know that you might want to try posting this again in the General Discussion about Curly Hair forum! Way more people post in that forum as opposed to this one, so you're likely to get more responses in a shorter amount of time over there.

Anyway, good luck with the job/hairstyles!
    2a/2b/2c - I've experienced them all

Still not sure about porosity/protein... my hair takes forever to dry & products often weigh it down, but I like protein. Thus I'm confused.

Thank you for the tip! I am a little new to the forums. :)
But I've made my decision, I went out and bought myself a lace front and will just clip that in when it's time for work and clip it out afterwards. It'll give me a chance to take care of my natural hair and have a quick style I can wear to dance.
    Thanks a lot. :happy7:
I'll keep that in mind for next time! :D

Why did you take the lack of responses personally? so many people post questions and end up with 0 responses. When poeple don't have suggestions or tips to give they just don't respond, it's as simple as that. Keep hanging out around the different forums here once you familiarize yourself with it you will know the best forum for a particular question.
good luck with your hair journey :walk:

+1...that is a great idea. I would also suggest you post in a board that discribes your hair type (i.e. 4a).
as a suggestion to your original post, I think you came up with a good alternative to your TWA. I think I would also choose to do the lace front...just make sure you secure it really well (lol). Good Luck:colors:

    just upping this

cause i think this is a really interesting post

    1. don't take anything on the WWW personally i just saw this thread because im always in 4a (my home)

    2. i dont know the club or city in which you work or the clientele it is possible having a super fierce short cut would be to your advantage cause you will stand out, i know there are a lot of men who think long hair is sexy so i understand your reservations

    3. is the wig staying in place?

    4. you mentioned you are the only "ethnic" girl dancing i dont know what that means since ethnicity isn't the same as race and you did mention a TWA...but how's the experience been so far?

    good luck
