Mousse vs Gel

What's the real difference?
Which do you prefer, why and how do you use it?

I am trying to decide what to get that won't weigh my hair down and won't be too producty feeling. I have been having a lot of 'issues' :sad3: with my hair, so i'm trying to change up my routine.

I switch between both, but I think I'm liking gel better. It gives me more hold. The mousse looks nice in the beginning of the day but by the end my hair is flat and the curls are pulled out.

Maybe you should try a light hold gel. I was using a strong hold and I felt it weighed down my hair, that's why I started experimenting with mousse. I also tried a light hold gel and that is what I am preferring right now. I hope this kind of helps you.

I am loving mousse. It gives me clumps and controlled volume and body. Gel gives me better hold, but weighs my hair down a bit.

I bought HETT gel and used it this morning under some Lustrasilk OOC (just a little bit, dealing with overconditioning issues). My hair is dry and I SOTC however there was hardly any crunch, i'm not sure if I used enough or not. I have great volume, but still straightesh ends.

I've used mousse for years but it seemed like everyone here loved gel, so I gave it a shot. I don't like gel by itself, it really weighed my hair down & made it look dull. I now use a combo, mostly mousse with some gel for definition

Try the HESMP mousse. I am loving it this winter season. I use it with a leave in under it. My hair dont feel or look at producty as with gel.

I mostly use mousse and much prefer it to gel. I try gel now and then (have some BRHG atm) but I never seem to have much luck with it, it always makes me look more producty for some reason.
I use Joiwhip regularly and find it gives much better definition and hold and also keeps my ever present frizz at bay better.
