Yes! Ritchie has cut my hair once and did a wonderful job. He is Devachan-trained, used Deva products (among others) and is a curly himself! You won't be disappointed.

Can you give me a ball park on his rates?
Does he cut dry or wet?
    Did he cut layers?

You don't know how much of a godsend this post is. I haven't had a pro cut in about 3 years, but I do trims in mid sized twists once or 2 a year. Now I'm afraid that I've got splits up the wazoo. I really need a cut, but I've soo hesitant because I don't want to straighten.

ETA: I checked their site and women's cuts begin at $45.

What do hair typing, Santa, the bogey man, and the great pumpkin all have in common? My utter and complete disbelief in them of course. ;-)

I am also closely following this post. I haven't had a cut in years and I dearly need one. I am 3C, however, my hair is definitely think and voluminous and will be a handfull for any stylist. I have explored going to the Oiudad salon in Santa Monica as they indicate they have experience in all types of curly hair, but, haven't taken the plunge.

I haven't had a trim since August 2008 and that was when I my hair was relaxed. I too have been thinking of getting my hair shaped. I live in San Diego! Any good recommendations?

Hi! I live in L.A. and although I am 4a mainly (3c around the edges), I would definitely like to know how your appt. goes. I am transitioning now, but I may cut in a couple of months. I wonder if he can cut 4a hair well??? Please let us know (with pics)!

Hi, Curly Jammy and all. Please let us know how it goes. I live in L.A., so, I am definitely interested in your stylist. I need someone that is familiar with afrocentric type curls and is affordable. Would love to see your cut too if you can post a picture. I am also considering Morgan at Ouidad who I have heard has cut 3c/4a type curls according to their website.
