Have any of you used Megatek? My understanding is that it is the same as Ovation Cell Therapy but marketed to animals so is substantially cheaper.

I just ordered a small sample bottle off of ebay.

Would love to know if anyone has used it!

I have to say my hair feels good after it - no hardness or dryness after rinsing. (It does say to use a co if you feel your hair dry/hard after rinsing.) It was cheap compared to normal protein prods. I'm going to keep using once a week. My sister in law has very thin hair on her scalp so I am hoping that if I get any bonus of my hair feeling thicker I'll recommend it to her. I wanted to try it first tho and make sure nothing drastic happened!

Ohhh you have it? Can I ask if the one you have has any cones in the ingredients? I've seen multiple ingredient list postings and they are all different...and I bought off of ebay where they said no silicones..but one of the ingredient lists I've seen has the Dimethicone Copolyl.

My hair seems a lot like yours and Amy51373...

Do you put it on just like a condish or do you mix with water and just do your scalp?

I've also heard shedding can be a problem (which seems sort of counter to the idea of thicker hair!) so if you notice any will you post?

I already shed what seems like a lot to me given my hair thinness already.

My hair seems alot like yours and Amy 51373's...even though I am more a 2C than 3A...I'm also a Fi on the FIA scale.

Yes it does have Dimethicone Copolyl but it is water soluble. It looks like a co and smells nice. Mine had instructions on the screw jar. I just put on and left for 5 mins the first time I used it, next time 3 mins. (says between 3-5). I got mine in the UK. For me I'm using it for the protein aspect,(any growth/thickening will be a bonus for me) but as I said my s in law has thinning hair so I'll recommend it to her. I haven't noticed any shedding - no more than normal. I usually shed some in the shower when detangling but have noticed nothing out of the ordinary.

Anyone concerned about losing his or her hair should be using this product. Chemotherapy patients really like this product. It is also used by people who are experiencing hair loss due to high blood pressure medication
NAILS:Will make your finger nails 30% stronger. Apply a little on the cuticle daily and you will have finger nails like youhave never seen before. It can also be used as a super - moisturizer for dry, calloused hands.

Dosage & Administration: Apply to wet clean hair. Used 3 times a week after shampooing, your hair will be thicker and fuller. Just rub a small amount in your hair and let it stay on from 2 to 5 minutes, then rinse out. Works faster when used with Premier Shampoo. Mega-Tek has a lot of protein so it is important to ensure that you use a conditioner after your Mega-Tek treatment if your hair is prone to feeling brittle when using a lot of protein.. You can use the Premier Cream conditioner after the Mega-Tek treatment. For very dry hair then use the Premier spray or Survivor detangler.
Nails: Apply a little on the cuticle daily for fantastic nails.

I want to try this, but a lot of people have posted that when they stopped using it, the fullness/thickness they got eventually went away.

I still have most of one bottle left-I used 2 bottles in the past year or so, mainly on my scalp at night. I wasn't looking for thickness, per se, but to maximize growth. I think it is an excellent protein conditioner, and, although I don't believe anything can grow hair faster or put hair where none exists, I do believe that some products can just create the optimum scalp environment to maximize hair potential. I actually have baby hairs on the sides of my hairline that have filled in quite nicely, and my hairline was just fine IMO before. This was not my goal. Many people have the best results stopping it every so often then they get a growth spurt of sorts when starting up again. Exactly! I don't care too much for the growth (that's just a side bonus!) but thicker = :thumright: for me!

Did you get the sample off ebay? I thought for a total of $11 including shipping that it was a good way to try it without spending $40!

I use this but I've gone very slow with it to prevent excess shedding I read about.

It has no 'cones and I dilute it with water and use it mainly as a scalp treatment a few times a week.

My stylist said she noticed the start of some new growth at my temples and a bit on my crown. I'm staying with it and if it works, I have no intention of stopping using it. I don't get the complaints that people have that their hair falls out after they stop using it. Then don't stop using it!!! Why would you quit something that works? This is just so illogical.
People expect miracles to occur with their hair but hair is constantly growing and falling out. How can you blame the product for not working if you stop using it?This is not a cure for hair loss and it especially doesn't work if you won't use it....if you stop using it and your hair falls out again, it's your own fault, not the fault of the product....

SooOOOooooo how are those ingredients supposed to work to re-grow hair? They are the exact same ingredients that are in a regular conditioner. The megatek and the ovation do not have the same ingredients.

Did I find the wrong ingred list? Are those the conditioners that are supposed to be sold with the rebuilder/cell therapy?

I emailed the company over the Mega-Tek ingredients list discrepancies a while ago. They sent me a couple of pdf's with the correct ingredients of all their products.

I agree..the ingredients are normal..nothing extra or special about them. In fact my beloved Hairveda MCP has many of these..even some protein.

So my theory is that it is the protein that helps or maybe the combination/amount of ingredients?

I gotta admit that part of me even thinks that the reason this works so well is 1. belief that it can and 2. that people are paying attention..leave on for 3-5 minutes and use regularly and all that.

or maybe not..but either way there isn't anything in here that is not in a ton of other products. I'm going to use it and see and I'll update:)

I have to say before CG I didn't even use condish..and if I did I certainly didn't leave it on or anything...so it could be for me my hair likes that I am now trying to figure out what it, well, likes!:iconbiggrin:

Has anyone tried this on men's hair? I don't know if there would be a difference, but my daddy wants to grow his hair out (and he is getting thin) and dye it all black again (I'm hiding the men's dye he bought and see if I can get some Indigo or Henna), so I thought I'd give it a try.

He's going through a sort of mid life crisis, I think, mournful of the days of the full jheri curl. He told me once that he had a friend relax it and it went mid-back. This same relax job caused all his hair break off (said htat huge chunks that fell out) and the worse of it (the top of the crown and midway back) as been thin ever since.

I'm rambling, but it's my daddy, and I love talking about him, I'm such a daddy :female:

My best friend's husband uses the Ovation Cell Therapy (not the shampoo and condish..just the cell therapy itself) but it's pretty pricey. You can order off of ebay a sample of this for $11 (incl. shipping) so he can give it a try. The guy sends it with a little bottle so you can distribute it with water on your scalp if you want to...he was really really nice. I'm not affiliated. The guy's name was Greg and the company is Green Earth Enterprises. He was super nice and followed up with me via email and responded really quick to my questions.

I'm not sure who else sells it but I was very attracted to the sample size. It's a pretty good size (got it yesterday). I'm going to start it tomorrow.

OK..I hate to be the spewer of misinfo.....BUT::I have both bottles in front of me, and the ingrediant list you just posted is on the back of my ovation cell therapy bottle(I refilled it with megatek, because bottle was too big for shower.Now on the back of the megatek bottle goober was right on, on that ingrediant list. The only discrepency was on her list of the ovation.(and also this list) On my bottle,(over a year old) it has listed, the panthenol, and hydrolized keratin protein , on the list, before or (HU) than the cetrimonium chloride, that is the only differance , from Goobers list and my bottles. The company (EQyss) got the lists mixed. Bottom line, they performed identicle,smelled the same, just a way better price. You can only get Ovation on line, and they have a hairclub type website.I had read that the ingrediant list ,was the same, but thank you for pointing out Goobernut, it in fact is not. At any rate, once I started using. never experianced a shedding problem. I also read on the LHCF, that garlic pills, could negate ,that effect.Dont know if I believe, but I just happen to take garlic every day. Im stickin with it.

The reasoning I received from the company about the different labels was that bottles were mislabeled.

Apparently the bottles with the ingredients you all are talking about are the mislabeled ones.

My Mega-Tek bottles have the label I copied the list above from.

But anyway, if you are sceptical and don't want to use it, feel free to not bother. Everyone has free choice.

For me, I'll keep using it because I think it's as good for my hair and maybe better than most of the billions of products out there.

Not really. It leaves my hair stringy. I'm going to try it over Xmas break (I have 2 weeks off) mixed with water as a treatment..but so far I'm not keen.

Not sure how others' hair does but mine usually loves protein..but this did not feel too great when I put it on and my hair didn't do it's normal protein "happy" dance :blob4: when I used it.

I've used it in hopes of it re-growing my hair and making it fuller as I've heard happen with others. No such luck here. It smells good and makes my hair feel strong, I still use it for protein. But that's that, no change in my hair.

I'm not sure if it made my hair grow any faster than normal since I'm not checking for length.

Hi. I just started using MT. But I measured my hair so I can check the progress. I have some bad damage and traction alopecia because I am dumb and did dumb things to my hair. :angry4:

However if we keep this thread going maybe we can track everybody's progress???

In any case I would love to hear from anyone here if they have been using MT for a while. 8-)

a new little megatek comment. due to a new workout schedule,stopped using megatek as much.I massage into scalp, after a cowash, with a thick condish, like biolage on top. ,leave on, for rest of shower,around 10:00-15:00 min.I cut back to 1 x a week, instead of 2 or 3, hair definately, started getting shaggy, breaking off, was trying to go as long, as possable without trim.So it was overdue.Got a trim(small cleanup) upped my megatek. Its the strength, that is making my hair grow longer, but also feels thicker, less tangly.Certain types of protein in the past, have dried me out, and broken hair off .AO, GVB, I think to name one.Megatek does opposite. I dont use by itself, though.

Just used MT for the first time today. My bottle says it has the dimethicone, but I'm not worried.

I'm going for length and thickness. My hair is pretty short, so I'll be able to tell very quickly if it is growing faster or not.

Hair was pretty happy with it. It had been feeling very dry, but my hair seems to like protein, and a bottle of MT is way cheaper than a bottle of Ouidad DT.

I have been using MegaTek for a month and my bald patches are filling in. I used it 3 times a week. Wash with regular shampoo 1/week and cowash 2/week. I used a moisturizing conditioner and leave-in. In a month I've gained about 1cm growth, but the exciting part is my thin areas are much better. :snorting:
