What little unimportant things bug you for no apparent reason.

When someone asks my boss for a phone number he says - 555- fifty eight thirty seven. That is not a phone number. A phone number is 555- five eight three seven.
Every time he says it I just want to reach over to my mug of pens and stuff, slowly pull out the scissors, and stab him with them.

I hate the word 'whom' and will not use it no matter the rules of proper english. Whenever I hear or read that word, it makes my eye twitch.

I could probably think of a hundred other things off the top of my head, but I don't want to sound too cranky.
So, what useless little things bother you for no reason?

i hate when i'm talking to someone (usually over the phone) and maybe they didnt hear something i said, so instead of say 'what did you say?' or 'can you please repeat' or even 'WHAT?!' they just stay dead silent. DEAD SILENT. so i'm like 'hello, are you still there?' that kills me!!! it drives me insane. what i know do is treat it like a contest. if you wont say anything, i won't either... LOL. i'll stay DEAD SILENT too! lol.

i also hate grunters... people that make noises for no reason while they're like walking by. or just make all kinds of sound effects for no reason. in my cubicle setting all i hear sometimes (from a specific person) is 'huh, mmmm, ughhh, sigh, teeth sucking noises' like ALL DAY LONG. its like, silence bothers them...

When people have fingernails that are bitten down very low, into little stubs, and bitten, scabby, raggedy cuticles. It makes me wanna vomit.

When people in stores talk to themselves as you pass by to break some (imagined) "awkward" silence.

"Wow, look at this, Comet is on sale. Maybe I will get two."

OK, I don't give a ****! Don't bother me or try to draw me into a pointless conversation.

haha, I hadn't read what you wrote when I made my post, Burgundy_locks. I was thinking along the same lines. I hate all that useless, annoying chatter from people -- in the form of sound effects, self talk, stupid conversation starters, etc.

"Wow, look at this, Comet is on sale. Maybe I will get two."

The way a co-worker talks on the air aggravates me. Everyone else seems to love his voice and he just makes me want to start punching things or maybe fall asleep, I haven't decided. He's boring.

I hate when people don't put things back where they found them. Every day in the newsroom I'm de-cluttering the desk, and in grocery stores if I find something ridiculously out of place on a shelf I'll put it back where it belongs. People who don't walk their shopping carts back to the corral MAKE ME CRAZY.

It bugs me when a person calls me or comes in the door and immediately starts a conversation without saying HI first.
I pick up the phone and hear -
Them "I will be home next Friday at 8 so we can go to dinner then."
Me "Why hello Ted, I'm fine, how are you?"
It stops them in their tracks.

When people twist ketchup packets instead of flattening them out--that bugs me....
The word whom makes me twitch too!!
The eco-hipsters that try to show off how "green" they are when they're just trying to look cool.
Teeny-Tiny people who complain about putting on weight. One of my friends is really bad about this--and shes a 00.
The dog-in-purse thing. They have legs, they can walk.
Lisps. I know, they cant help it, but when I'm speaking to someone who has a lisp i just wanna yell "SHUT UP!!". I'm sorry--I don't mean to be so mean. :crybaby:

I HATE when I get what seems like a perfectly nice little email, like the one I got with all the pictures of Christmas trees from around the world and a picture of the National Cemetary at Arlington with snow and wreaths, becomes a political email when someone somewhere along the way throws in a snide remark about the liberal press, the democrats, the republicans, whatever. It completely detracts from the message of the email and just pisses me off. Go peddle your ****ing political crap elsewhere. *******.
Democracy is not a spectator sport.

Lots of stuff bugs me. One unimportant thing that annoys me is unnecessary noise in the form of banging about or cutlery crashing around on china. One co-worker used to noisily stir her tea for far longer than was necessary, then bang the spoon on the rim of the cup to remove any drops, then literally dropped the spoon onto the desk so it crashed down with another loud noise.
Yes, my tail is naturally curly.
No, it was NOT me who cried 'wee wee wee wee wee' all the way home.

My husband doesn't chew with his mouth open, but some how he manages to make this smacking sound when he eats. It irritates me to no end.

I also get a slight touch of road rage at my son's school in the drop off lanes in the morning. I don't understand people sometimes.

I hate when I'm at the movies and someone near me is eating a hotdog. I hate the smell.

Loud noises. Shopping carts being crashed together. People who speak at high volume.

When people forward emails or post Facebook statuses and it's something that should have been checked on snopes. The other day someone posted:
When doing your Christmas cards, take one and send it to this address: A Recovering American Soldier c/o Walter Reed Army Medical Center 6900 Georgia Avenue NW; Washington, D.C. 20307. If we pass this on, think of how many cards these wonderful special people would get. PASS THIS ON TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS. (JUST COPY AND PASTE TO YOUR WALL IF YOU AGREE).

I remember seeing this before, and if anyone addresses mail like that, it will be tossed. I hate the added on "Paste this if you agree" which basically implies that you hate the troops if you see it and don't immediate paste it into your status.

Also, when my husband enters a room and immediately turns on the TV. It doesn't matter if he is not watching it/the program is junk or he leaves the room seconds later, just the fact that he feels it's necessary to turn on the TV as a habit bothers me. We have discussed this compulsion many times.

I hate the lids on most cans of spray paint. Why do I have to use a screwdriver to open a can of spray paint!?! Just make the lid like every other lid in the universe!

I hate when all the drawers on a dresser aren't completely closed. It ruins the symmetry on front of the dresser.

I hate when people suck their teeth and make that annoying air sucking sound. STOP!!!!!!

haha, i can relate to most of these.

something that's been happening since Tuesday is also bugging me. i got a couple dozen roses for my bday on Tuesday and they were sent to my job. i love flowers at the job. they keep me happy :) and since i spend so many hours there, i can really appreciate them there, so i keep them there. people come to my desk: "whose flowers are those?! are they yours?!" i really just want to scream "NO, they're sitting on my desk just cause!". now that's really something unimportant and it shouldnt bug me. but i just dont get why someone elses roses might be on my desk... just seems like a real silly question to me.

When people use subject pronouns instead of object pronouns. For example: "You can't talk that way to we students," or, "She gave the gift to my brother and I."

It's really stupid of me, but it just kind of bugs me.

Does anyone else get bugged by certain words? (Other than "whom"). Words that are somehow icky.

    Here are my icky words:

    Panties
    Caress

Um, there are probably more that I can't think of right now. I know some people don't like the word "moist" but it's never bothered me.

I just love you guys and your crankypantsness. : )

I hate when people call puke 'upchuck'. That word gags me.

I hate it when I hold the door for someone and they don't say thank you.

I hate people honking their horns while stuck in traffic. It doesn't make traffic move faster and just adds to the stress.

Okay, thought of something else. If you, (a male), are going to the men's room, that's all I need to know. Just say "I need to stop at the men's room."

I hate the word load. Especially from the Lean on Me song...
"If there is a load you have to bear
    That you can't carry
I'm right up the road, I'll share your load
    If you just call me"

I also hate it when a person comes out of the bathroom and says 'Oh man I feel 5 pounds lighter!" Gross!

When I use a public restroom and while washing my hands another person comes out of a stall and just leaves the bathroom then I have to open the door with my freshly washed hands...

I hate listening to other people's music- especially the bass. Doesn't matter if it's a song I like or not. I don't mind normal living noises most of the time, but hearing the music from upstairs invariably makes me batty.

I also hate it when I say something and someon responds, "are you sure?" No, I'm not sure, I just want to screw with your head. OF COURSE I'M SURE. Apparently I am responsible for teaching a former boss not to do that!! So I heard, anyway.

I hate it when people use words like 'nauseous' wrong, even though everyone but me does that it still bugs me.

:puker::pukel:When people cough and sneeze around me, I feel like I've been infected with something, I hold my breath and cover my face until I feel like I am about to pass out if I can't move away, like on public transportation. My friends think it's rude but I don't care, I am protecting me. I've done this ever since I was younger, I don't like to sneeze or cough and I don't want anyone to do it around me either.

:pukel::pukel:I also HATE when people lick their fingers to turn the pages of a book or magazine, honestly NASTY!!!! Especially library books, do they not realize how many hands have touched those, I often see people sneezing in books and can you imagine touching that and then licking your fingers. I'll stick with the library website, I don't borrow books from the library.
