CURLS product recommendations

hiya,
I do apologize if this has been done but it is very difficult to search for curls products in curltalk as you can imagine.

Anywho I'm thinking of order some curls products and take advantage of the current 20% special. It's been awhile since I order hair stuff online so I thought I'd treat myself.

I'm just not completely sure what to get and I've notice a few of you have been experimenting/using them, so I was hoping for some guidance from some fellow wavies.

So what products do you like? hate? not sure of etc?

Thanks in advance.

Can you tell me if your hair is fine or coarse? What's your porosity?

I Love the Goddess Glaze and Gelllesc together but I need to know your hair properties to give more advice.

umm silly me... I believe i have fine to medium texture and well I'm not exactly sure on my porosity. I've read and re-read the test in live curly live free and the descriptions but without really comparing it to known hair types I get a little lost. To take a stab i would lean towards normal porosity.

Curls has sample packs so you can try smaller sizes of the products:
    http://www.curls.biz/curly-hair-products/hair-growth-treatment.html

And you can ask the creator questions here in this forum:

solidgold - thanks for the reply. I had asked the creator about using her products on wavy hair but pretty much got a copy of what's on her website as being 'good' for wavies. I just wanted to know what people thought of the prodcuts personally, even though I know my hair is not exactly like everyone elses. I just people's opinions are a little less bias as they haven't got stakes in the company. I'm also checked out the forums on the curls.biz site but found them very sales oreintated.

I did find a thread in the general board about GG and gel-es-c (or whatever it's called) which was interesting.

Thanks for the heads up on the sample packs they are a great idea. Unfortunately I've come to find that with international shipping rates it's just not worth getting sample packs. :( sucks!

If a product is available in a Curly Q version--buy that. The ingredient lists seem identical and in the same order, but the child's version is usually 25% cheaper. Most of us can't find a difference.

As for the Curls products themselves I love the Coconut Dream Condish (smells like cookie dough or warm cake batter!) and the Asian Tea Conditioner. The latter is one of my favorite Deep Treatment's.

I like the Gel-Les'C product (I have the Curly Q one) and the Goddess Glaze together--but neither works very well on its own for me. Together they work well. I think I might have pics in the fotki.

As for the others the moisturizer spray stuff I found awful. Sticky and hard to manage.

The [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/CURLS-Curls-Milkshake-p-884.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=Curls-Curls-Milkshake]Milkshake[/buylink] is just o.k. It works sometimes as a sort of leave-in and curl enhancer. It's not consistent for me.

I didn't like the custard--too heavy. I tried it on Tahia's hair she her hair didn't like it either.

I have not tried the other products but I do hear the shampoo (Sublime or the kids version) is excellent. It is one of the few things still on my wish list!

    I love gelles'c, love it!
i have goddess glaze but need to play around with it.

If you don't want to make a big purchase without knowing if you'll like something I recommend gong to the swap board and trying to get a sample size there or go to Kathymack and buy some samples.

    Good luck and have fun:)

Ok, this is the ONLY thing that gave me beautiful curls! You HAVE to at least TRY it! 1. For EVERY review I have ever seen for these products there are always 5 out of 5.
    2. All of their products are vegan and not tested on animals.

None of the products are my faves, but I like Goddess Glaze better than Gel'es'C. I have some of both for sale over on the swap board if anyone's interested - some unused, some with a little used.

I do like Jessicurl products better, but they break my forehead and hairline out ,and the magnesium sulfate can be drying from some after a while. Otherwise, they'd probably be my HG's.

I was wondering this.. I had started comparing them. Silly marketing gimic!

swap board is usually a no go - once you add exchange rate and shipping it makes it kinda not a saving to do it that way.

I'm so forgetful I had spoken to KathyMack about samples once before and whether she could try international... i had completely forgotten. However i've just started looking at products again... since my hair is starting to actually grow.

I do love jessicurl products I actually have some stashed in my cupboard as they did introduce them over here but then they didn't sell well so they were clearing them out half price. I actually have to go back to see if there is anymore. one of the interstate aussie curlies wants to try it too.
