do any of you guys also suffer from deformed curls? i have 2b hair, and it's pretty thick, and sometimes i have a few good curls (like 2 or 3) but the rest of it is very... deformed. do any of you know why? or have a solution? thanks so much! ^.^

Oddly shaped curls? Oh, I get those in droves. Square-shaped ones, ones that stick out horizontally, ones that are neither curly nor wavy but an as-of-yet-undiscovered shape... yuck. And I can never tell which part of my hair will do it on which day.

Unfortunately it may just be one of the curses of waviness. 3s and 4s tend to have, overall, more predictable and consistent hair than we do.

If you plop your hair for a few minutes and make sure it's squished up against your head in a spiral pattern, that can help promote more "normal" looking hair. Some days, though, there is nothing for it - I just pin back the bits that are really causing me grief.
Thick, mostly 2c with some 3a; fine texture, medium/high porosity, and a very strange curl & wave pattern.

Started CG (properly) as of 6/31/2009.

Cowash | Suave Naturals Ocean Breeze or Juicy Green Apple
    Rinse-out | Burt's Bees Super Shiny
Leave-in | Live Clean Intense Moisturizing
    Gel | HESMU

Right now: growing hair past shoulder-length, looking to take decent hair picture (my avatar is my first day of CG).

I do, occasionly. Do you use the method in the shower where you put your head back and just let the water run through? Try that first, also, what I find helps is to comb through hair when it's wet so the waves don't get all connected with others waves and turn into a big deformed mess. Also, plopping is good, but if I plop through the whole night, I wake up with overly curly waves. Don't get me wrong, I love curls! But, it's just that the over-curly waves are like overly excited---like curls on drugs! Haha:):toothy7:Hope I helped!
