I love this thread on the 4A forum and on LHCF. So I thought we should do it too!

Basically it's the place for you to indicate what you did to your hair that day--products, successes, failures, etc.

Post away!

Weeeelll, the waves have been looking a little blah since the cooler weather arrived. It always takes me a while to find my fall/winter routine since the previous year's never works (or maybe I just can't remember it, lol). So, since changing up the products hasn't been doing wonders, I decided to arrange it a little differently when I was using my Denman. I usually brush it back and away from my face, but today I brushed it sort of down and across my forehead a bit. Jury is still out since it isn't completely dry yet, but so far I'm liking it...it's kind of like having bangs without really having to have them. Just a softer look. How about you?

    I'll play!

I'm recovering from a protein disaster, so today I focused on moisture. Just did my normal wet scalp scrub, then a good dose of GFTN rinse-out. I just got a protein-free condish for leave-in (Suave Aloe & Waterlily), so I scrunched in a good handful of that, then a bit of gel (currently using a GF one, can't remember the name). It's air drying now, and hopefully it will have more life and shine and health back once it's dry!

Just a co-wash with Tea Tree Triple Treat, rinse out with GFTN (and a pea sized leave-in of GFTN), and some HESMU mousse. I tried the Pixie diffusing method, and it looks better than it has in a while. I think I need more hold than the mousse alone, so I'll probably add some gel tomorrow.

I can't wait for my hair to adjust to CG. I've only been doing it for a few days, so my hair is still being kind of stubborn, and I'm still figuring out what products it likes.

I used my extra virgin coconut oil and mixed it with a little argan oil (for giggles) as a pre-poo. Left it on for 30 some odd mins and then CJ loo-poo'd it out. I think I'm really starting to dig the CJ loo-poo. Anyway, went back to the mastey since I haven't used it in-for-evah (and I know how my hair reacts with it), and then used CJ CA LI. Pulled the old jessicurl samples back out and..... its a bust. The of my hair back is nearly flat. Why is something that is marketed as a curl enhancer not enhancing on me?? I mean, LOOC is more curl enhancing when used alone under gel! lol.

Anyway, I'm gonna go with the fact that Jessicurl is loaded with oils, and I should just stay away from them in anything but my pre-poo's.

I used conditioner only last night. I cowashed and used rinse-out conditioner. Then, I did a modified version of super-soaker. I raked in a ton of leave-in. I brushed with a denman brush. Scrunched in some water, and scrunched in more leave in. I slept with a really wet pineapple. I love how soft it is. It's not as curly as usual, but I think it's worth it because I like having no crunch.

I pampered my waves today. Washed with Aveda black malva shampoo (on scalp only), used Hi-pro pac protein treatment in my hair for a few minutes, rinsed that out, and then conditioned with Aura cherry almond bark.

Dew points are high here today, so I chose Eco Styler gel to combat poofiness/frizz. I combed this through soaking wet hair, scrunched with a microfiber towel, and let it air dry.

I misted with water to reactivate the Dep texture sport Gel already in it from yesterday..Smoothed in a pea size of LOOC, Finger styled, scrunched as needed, clipped the top and sat under the dryer 10 minutes. Not super curly or clumpy, but perfectly presentable.

Today was a low-poo day. So I low-poo'd and CO'd with Giovanni 50/50. Put in some GVP CB and left it on for the rest of my shower and rinsed with cold water (which sucks in the fall/winter BTW...). Then I raked in AOMM and scrunched in HETT. It was an "eh" hair day. Very shiny and soft, but my hair can dry in weird patterns if the scrunching isn't perfect.

The GG gives a little hold. I like it under Gelles'c. I also use the GG over other enhancers with slight hold.

I low poo'd and conditioned with GF nutri-repair (the same as tripple something for US curlies??) I gave it a quick blow dry as I was catching a lift with my brother and it was raining outside, to cold for airdrying. Hair is soft but feels a little dry in spots. I'm over due for a protein treatment but it's at my uni house :(

No need to say more than that.

Works good for many others. UGH. I think it's the Goddess Glaze (Princess Glaze). The only thing I could get that to work with is the Gel-Les'C and even then it was a three hit wonder.

Good thing it's Sunday! I mean I had great curls but it was dry feeling, producty, just generally "icky".

I also tried my new EO Essentials Sweet Orange and Honey poo and condish. They were o.k. Liked the poo better than the condish. That EO Condish makes my son's hair so soft...he loves the smell..so I figured the $5 I spent on each (clearance at Marshall's since I whined as it looked like the bottles weren't full..gotta love being a squeaky wheel during Holiday season when they just want to click that number for the next person! :toothy7:) wouldn't be wasted anyway.

So, I co-washed with my Suave Coconut and used GFSS as my rinse out. Smoothed through AOMM and scrunched with HESMU. I have the same problem today as I did with the GFTN and the AOMM/gel combo. At least, I think it is the GF that is giving me the problem since I don't have it any other time. My hair just looks oily. I am going to say that GF CO's just aren't for me...I'm thinking I need a CO with hardly any oils in it.

I used the GFSS on Friday with no problem. All I used to style was AOMM, no other gel. Could it be the GFSS and the gel is the problem? How does something work okay one day and make me look oily the next? :confused1:

Oh well, this is why CO's scare me. I think I am okay with just using the Suave Naturals Coconut as a co-wash and leaving it in while I shower. Then using some of my Aloe & Water Lily as LI.

Question: what does it mean when your hair breaks when you try to stretch it while wet (which is really hard to do since your hands are slippery, btw)?

UPDATE: So, as the day goes on it looks better and better. I guess my hair is finally soaking up the oil. Don't think I'll want to wait for my hair to look good though. What would this mean about my porosity?

    Last night I:

    -Shampooed using a shampoo bar
    -Rinsed
    -Used rinse out conditioner
-Detangled for, like, two hours upside down, first with my fingers, then a wide toothed comb :sleepy4:
-Did an ACV rinse with the conditioner still in my hair, upside down
-Rinsed for five seconds, still upside down
-Squeezed a bit of the excess water out
    -Used a fine toothed comb
Scrunched in a half dollar sized amount of conditioner
-Went to bed with it like this

Looks great! Great volume and wave. Absolutely no frizz.

Ugh...running waaay late this morning. Used Deva Lo-Poo and AOHR for conditioner. Small amount of Giovanni Leave-In. Pulled back in a ponytail for the day.

My hair is all sorts of out-of-wack after being at the in-laws for 5 days...their water is very soft, and ours is super hard.

I really need to get my act together and wear my hair down more often. I get lazy and wear my hair up every day...

    I'll play again!

I co'd with GTTTT, then rinsed out with GFTN. I used the ice queen method to encourage clumping. I used about a pea-size of GFTN as a leave-in. I sprunched just a little of the water out, then applied a big palmful of HETT mousse, and about a dime to nickel size of GFTN.

I plopped for about 30 minutes, then diffused using the Pixie method to about 85% dry or so. When I got to school, I SOTC. I've gotten lots of compliments! Everyone's shocked, as my hair was so straight before.

This morning I cowashed with Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition Conditioner, scrunched in Dep Texture Styling Gel, clipped the top and sat under the dryer 15 minutes.
No frizz, great clumping, big loose curls!

Went to yoga class which involved the usual upside down positions, laying on my back, headstand, etc. It was also pouring rain, no hat or umbrella, and I changed clothes twice.

    My hair looked great!

Went to Whole foods to smell stuff and read labels.
Got nice compliments from a couple of people, then discussed hair care with a store worker named Bill who had a headful of pencil sized ringlets.

He said he uses [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Kinky-Curly-Curling-Custard-p-778.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=kinkycurly-curling-custard]Kinky Curly Curling Custard[/buylink] every day,
just swears by it, and gave me a generous sample.

I'll try it next time I do my hair, but not today! I wish it always came out this good.

My best guess is that I'm 2c, thick and wavy, letting the gray grow out.

Curls=Beauty I'm glad you were joking. I remember the horrible tangles I used to get at the back of my hair when it was really long. I just wore it french braided for years rather than wear it down and have to deal with combing out those knots on a regular basis.

I low pooed w/ Giovanni 50/50, rinse out conditioned w/ LVPNG and a bit of GVP CB. Added Giovanni DLI to wet hair, raked in JC RR and CC, and scrunched in Biotera gel. Plopped for about 20 minutes (longer than usual), then clipped for another 20, diffused, applied AVG to frizzy spots and am now sporting the wet look waiting for it to fully dry before SOTC. We shall see how it looks by the end of the day. My curl tends to loosen and gets a bit more frizzy as the day progresses.

Update: So far so good. I think my hair likes JC.
