How do I keep the pretty waves?

in Hair Type 2
Hey! So, when I wash my hair during the day, and let it air dry for about 2 hours, I get beautiful curls! But, when I go to bed, I wake up with a messy mass of hair that always evokes that comment "go brush your hair!". What should I do to keep my hair pretty in the morning? I already have a silk pillow. Should I plonk/plop? I'm not sure if pineappeling would work for my hair, but I am willing to try it! All help, suggestions, comments are appreciated!

My hair is super short, but I pineapple still works for me. I think the plop and the pineapple are both worth a shot. Just be prepared for a redo or ponytail day.
Good luck.
