I just bought some of this tonite a Sally's. The lady said it was like a mild perm and she sells alot. I aksed her if she got any complaints ans she said she didn't....and that usually customers come in and complain if they don't like the results. I'm going to try this in a week or so to the back/nape of my hair, it's 3c there and bunches up. I'm going to deep condition a few times first. Fingers crossed....

Hello - Haven't been on the site forever, but I did just do my hair w/ the one 'n only curl remover on Sunday. Yes, it pulled out a lot of the curl which I like. I had my hair straightened w/ the matrix opti-smooth which worked great as well but cost $150.00. After I saw all the rave reviews I decided to pick this up at Sally's and for price of $7.99 I really had nothing to lose. Glad I did it!!! Hope this helps

I just used this on my daughters hair, her hair is a 3C. A friend of mine told me about it. It works wonderfully!! My daughter is 7 and she loves her hair now, and it was only 7.99. Best 7.99 I have ever spent on her hair! I highly recommend this product. It left her hair shiny and it doesn't look or feel dried out at all.

Updates on this? How has your hair held up over time? Noticed any more damage?

Please excuse any typos. For the time being, we are blaming it on my computer.

Oh, I'd love to try this, but I'm scared it will destroy my hair. Does anybody have any before and after pictures?

I was near Sally's today and went in. I actually bought a box. but now I'm wondering if I'll have the nerve to go ahead and use it. The saleswoman in the store said she's heard good reports about it, she even took out the instructions to go over it with me, reminding me to wait 7 days between chemical treatments (I color.) I also asked about the return policy, I have 90 days. So, now what will I do? Yeah, I'm a chicken

Oh, I so want to try this! But I'm such a chicken and am afraid all my hair will fall out :( I don't want to lose all my curl just lessen my 3a-3b to wavy.
    2c, 3a and 3b combined. I think anyway

The folic product is tempting...... but it still has chemicals like relaxers.

Pls can you tell me if you have experienced damage after use?

I used an anti-curl a year and half ago.... and it straightened my hair completely!

They left it in for only 10 minutes.

My advice is to try it on a small section of your hair first, because a strand test doesnt always show you the result.

Messing up a section of your hair is better than ruining all your hair.
Black/White. Hair: mix of curly and kinky. Classic case of gorgeous when wet and horrific when dry.

I bought 1 box of the normal formula for my daughters long 3b/c hair. Wasn't enough and it really didn't do anything. BTW, I took her to my stylist because I was afraid of applying it wrong. Her hair was not damaged by this at all. This was done back in November. Next week we're trying this again, only I bought 2 boxes of the "resistant formula". I'll try to remember to post after it's done.

This was taken at Christmas. So...you can see the first box did nothing.

i read that it lasts 6-8 weeks, does this mean that you have to reapply to all of your hair completely every 6-8 weeks or do you just have to do the roots?

Good question. I really don't know.

We're doing her whole head again this time as it didn't do much the first time around. We'll wait and see how straight it gets and go from there. HTH

So curlisa, did your daughter get it done? How did it go? Sorry...I'm impatient...the cold, dry air is getting to me and my hair!

I have used this product on my 12 year old daughter and my sister - both are biracial. The product is great and easy to apply THE FIRST TIME! Here's the problem - if you are NOT a professional, it's so hard to do the regrowth without getting it on the previously relaxed parts so you end up with very straight ends after 2-3 times, when you have long hair and only "trim" rather than take off length. I did not notice much damage but my daughter's hair is fine, and she wears pony tails so some breakage is unavoidable. Overall - great product but for the regrowth, I just can't seem to get it right.

Shelli, you just described one of my concerns! Application, now and later. I'm sure it would be even harder doing it myself. Thanks for the imput :)

My daughter is happy = success.

Again...it is not stick straight but this time, it took MUCH more of her curl out. She's happy having wavy hair.
I think I could do this myself after watching my stylist.
I will post an after picture soon!

curlisa, glad to hear your daughter is happy with the results!

AfroChick, sorry, I thought I was replying to a different thread, about Curlaway Relaxer, I believe this one is a permanent relaxer.

This product was horrible for me.

It did remove some (not alot) of the curl, BUT it left it in HORRIBLE condition. my hair is now dryer and frizzier than it has ever been. I basically have to flat iron my hair now if I want to let it down because this product damaged my hair so much.

that sucks, are you sure you put it in right? how long did you leave it in? did you use a deep treatment before you used it? i heard that its really improtant you do, maybe you should wait a while and try it again

I did use a deep conditioner and I left it in for not even 15 minutes. Thank god I didnt leave it in any longer.

I guess this product just depends on each person hair, cos I have spoken to a few others who had the same result that I had. :[

    afrochick...
First, my stylist washed and towel dried my daughters hair. Then, combed through and sectioned it so that there were 4 sections. ( Like a "t " if you looked down on your head. ) She started on the section in back, near her neck, and would take smaller pieces maybe 1 1/2" -2" wide and applied the formula along the hair keeping it 1/4" away from the scalp. She used her fingers to rake it though initially and after the whole head was done, she set the timer for however long the directions said ( I don't remember ) then she used a wide tooth comb and continuously combed the formula through. She then rinsed according to directions...I think 5 min... towel blotted...combed through and sectioned again the same way to apply the neutralizer. The first time, I bought 1 Blue box for "normal" hair. This time I bought 2 Purple "resistant" formula boxes. My daughter has long thick hair and 2 boxes was perfect. Again...she doesn't care that it's not perfectly straight. She's just happy that it's much more relaxed and easier to use a flat iron if she wishes. She likes the waves. Just a note: Her hair and mine has different curl patterns throughout the hair. Whereas her hair is much more curly and dense in back versus the front and sides. Having had this done...it is more straight in front than in back.

Please, if you decide to buy this, read the directions carefully. I would also recommend someone help you apply this. I think it might be awkward to do yourself. jmo. GOOD LUCK!

cassandra complex, I'm sorry you had such a horrible experience! My daughters hair doesn't appear to have been damaged at all.
