I want to see your 2nd day hair

I've gotten ok 2nd day hair a couple of times, but it's definitely got some frizz to it. I've never had 2nd day hair without frizz. I want to see what others' 2nd day hair looks like so I have something to compare to because I have no idea if what I get is the best I can hope for. Plus I'm just curious.
I suspect I toss and turn too much to get really good 2nd day hair, even with a satin pillowcase & pineappling.
I don't have any photos of my own yet since I don't get decent 2nd day hair very often. I'll take it down in a bit and if it's halfway decent I'll edit & add a photo.
No cones since 08/25/09. Occasional low poo.
Fine, normal to low porosity (still not sure which), ii, 3a/3b curls
Playing with products: HEBE Mousse, BRHG, AOMM, HESMU. Nothing blows my mind just yet. :D

I feel the same way, I just can't get it to not have a little frizz. I am lazy and do second hair all the time and just pin it back.

i have second day hair all the time simply because i wash and dry at night (so i really have no other option, lol). i recommend doubling up on the gel. in my case, sleeping on it tends to scrunch most of the crunch out by morning. and definitely make sure it's as dry as possible before going to bed. in my experience, any wetness causes odd bends and cowlicks by the time morning rolls around.

sorry, i have no pics as of yet. i will try and get some in my fotki soon.

I don't think it's possible to have 2nd day and not have some frizz. I would much rather live with a little frizz on 2nd and 3rd day because it saves me a ton of time. I don't normally like to add much (if any) product on 2nd day or I get frizz that I'm not willing to live with.

I've gotten decent results with a light spritz, a glaze of DMMG with a nickel blob of BRHG and a plop holds up well for me. I have not been doing well with a pineapple for the longest time. It makes my hair hurt regardless of how loose it is and if it does stay on all night by some miracle, I get too much volume that I can't tame. So now, it's a satin pillowcase but I would really love to try the satinsak RCC uses :glasses10:

Thanks for the info :) I was probably expecting/hoping for too much for 2nd day...I got some flexi-8 clips and my hair looks really cute half up which I haven't worn in a long time. That worked well for me yesterday. I am not a morning person and it was so nice not to have to fuss with my hair at 6 am.
A satinsak sounds interesting. I toss and turn a lot and I'd be surprised if it stays on but it couldn't hurt to try one.

May I ask what kind of sleep cap you use? I have been debating getting one. I have used them in the past and I've always had trouble with them making my hair an odd shape....if that makes sense. It just looks smooshed and weird in the morning. Do you have a technique of getting it all in there so it doesn't get smooshed?

I use one from Satinsakks, and it is more pricey than a regular one, but worth it to me. The satin part is on the inisde, which does help, and it is roomier. I have the long one, but the shorter one is still pretty roomy.

Got some pics, and I finally figured out- I think- how to embed images in a post instead of thumbnails. We'll see if this works. I find that the frizz I've got doesn't show up as well in these pictures- I think it looks a little better in the photos than irl, but I think it's acceptable nonetheless...I had to use a bit of water on both these days, and a little conditioner.

Thanks! I swear there's frizz that you can't see in the photos, they look loads better than irl but hey. I haven't really figured out how to tame the frizz and dampening seems to make it worse...I want to try one of those satin sleep sacks that you've got instead of pineappling. I try to tie a silk scarf around my head but it falls off. Pineappling also makes my hair so wonky in the front and I have to dampen to tame the wonky hair and then I get more frizz.
I never ever in a million years thought my curls would last overnight. I think over the past week or so I've sussed it out, though, between good advice and flexi 8 clips.

Thanks to all of you...and I do 2nd the yay for hair porn, I love seeing pics, and I don't know why but I do. Just out of curiousity rcc- have you ever cut your hair short? I went from about your length about 9 years ago and cut it to around ear length. I think I scared the pants of my stylist. I've decided I'm going to try to grow it long again so that I can donate to locks of love...plus I just miss having such long hair, and if I can do this without having to wet and style everyday this would be so doable. Your hair is gorgeous. Plus I love red hair.

    Thanks bergasaurus!

I had it shorter when I first started cg, but it hasn't been short in some time.

I always kept it long enough to go up in an updo in a military uniform because I always got in trouble for unmilitary hair when my hair was short. Bleh.
