Is Co Poo, No Poo?

CurlyMomCurlyMom Registered Users Posts: 334
I've just been wondering is no poo, just water washing and no co poo, or is co poo considered no poo?

Does that make sense??:hiding:

I haven't heard the term co poo, but if I'm reading your post correctly- when you use just conditioner to cleanse your scalp, it's considered no poo, or co-washing (conditioner washing). Co-wash is also a noun, used to refer to conditioner used to cleanse your scalp.

If you scrub your scalp when you're in the shower, but skip the conditioner, it's called water washing.

opps, sorry, I meant co wash. Anyway, is that the same as going no shampoo-less? Or does going shampoo-less mean just water washing?

Technically going shampoo-less means not using shampoo so co-washing and water washing both would fall under this category.

Co-washing - means washing your hair with conditioner only - no shampoo.

Water washing - washing your hair with only water. No shampoo or conditioner.

co-poo - as coined on the general discussion page is mixing a little conditioner in with your sulfate free shampoo to prevent it from being so drying.

    3b - dry - medium texture/medium porosity!

I think I have this right. There is an entirely separate method of hair care called No Poo. This method involves washing your hair with baking soda and apple cider vinegar in place of the shampoo.
In the CG method, conditioner replaces the shampoo. Some CG people use baking soda and ACV for various things, but it is not the primary method of cleansing.

Interesting- I hadn't heard the distinction before. They're used interchangably by most around here.
