1 week after BC

Hello everyone,
I did the BC last Saturday and I really like it. It was a shocker to everyone. I am a 3c and my hair was shoulder length and permed so this was really drastic. I needs some tips on proper care for my hair. I have used African Pride shampoo/conditioner, and Leave in conditioner. Did a hot oil treatment today and went out and bouth Carols daughter hair milk. I am going to try Shea moisture shea butter leave-in conditioner and Nubian raw shea butter shampoo. How am I doing thus far?

I cut all of the perm out of my hair, down to the new growth.

CONGRATS on your BC!! :blob7: It sounds like your doing the right thing for your hair. Check out some shampoos/condtioners/moisturizers that are free of sulfates, parabens, mineral oils and petroleum. I recommend Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose Conditioner, Taliah Waajid Protective Mist Bodifier, Coconut Oil, Olive Oil and maybe 100% Raw Shea Butter. Have you considered co-washing your hair? This helps my hair a lot!

    Congratulations! Everything sounds great except
I have used African Pride shampoo/conditioner, and Leave in conditioner.

I couldn't find the ingredients. But using a combined shampoo/conditoner is not so good. Your curls are likely to be very thirsty so you may want to cleanse with a mild conditioner most of the time and only shampoo if you get build up. The Nubian shea butter shampoo sounds good

Here are some good conditioners that don't cost much:

    to cleanse with (co-washes):
    Suave Naturals
GVP Biolage Matrix Conditoning Balm (diluted)
    Trader Joe Refresh conditoner

    Moisturizing/detangling conditioners
Renpure Organics My pretty hair is parched moisturizing conditioner
    Trader Joe Nourish
    Aubrey Organics
    Herbal Essences Hello Hydration

Raw shea butter is excellent for scrunching into hair righter over conditioner. I do that, then do a cool water rinse, great for defining your texture.

Playing with my hair is a hobby. Fluffy, fine natural 4a. Goal= Healthy, beautiful hair that retains its length.
Hear that crash? It's me falling off the CG wagon.
